Folks often ask for a 64bit version of SketchUp with an expectation that this would make SketchUp able to render larger models at higher frame rates. Unfortunately, 64bit processing offers no real benefit to realtime rendering systems like SketchUp.
The first thing to check on your underperforming system should be the graphics card- is hardware aceleration turned on in SketchUp and have you updated your drivers to their latest version.
