In the last week or maybe longer our Manual IP Blocking on System 5 suddenly stopped working. Random IPs already listed in Manual IP Blocking are delivering spam to users quarantine and in some cases their inbox completely unfiltered. This is a pretty serious problem considering Manual IP Blocking is our only line of defense with Message Security.
I contacted Postini Support via the contact form and heard back from Enterprise Support. They told me to delete the rule for the blocked IP and re-enter it. I told them this was not a viable solution as we have thousands of manually blocked IPs and the problem is occurring with random rules, so essentially I would need to re-enter all rules which took 6 months to create in the first place. They replied that they would need several more sample headers before they could investigate. That was last Thursday and I have since emailed them many more sample headers daily, but they have not replied to my emails and the problem continues. It would be nice if they at least replied with something like "we're investigating... bare with us", but as is I don't even know if they're reading my emails. They may have even closed the ticket without telling me.
I don't know where to go from here, there appears to be a bug on System 5, maybe Postini was even hacked, and I can't get any help, seems nobody cares. I hope this is all a misunderstanding and I can get it resolved as I don't like the prospect of having to look into alternate hosting for our 200 or so domains and thousands of users.
If anyone has any advice I would appreciate it. Tom
