We work on web projects with Austria's biggest private radio station, Kronehit. We managed to get into Google News and were part of it for a while. In July 2011, our Google News days were over. We had a web development issue that caused 404s after 24 hours for every article. We reduced that in September 2011 and finally got rid of the 404s at the beginning of October 2011.
We realized this might be a problem for the Google News crawler. However, it wasn't before. The exclusion might have happened because of 404s.
I've browsed this platform to find similar cases. I couldn't really find one that equals this one.
