If I understand you correctly, you visited a Google website using the browser on your phone and signed in using your Google account, correct? We're not talking about signing in to your phone, but into Google via the browser?
There's a subtle difference between when 2-step verification uses a 6-digit code vs. an application-specific password. From an Android device you'd use the 6-digit code from the browser (just as you would from a laptop or desktop computer) to access Google's websites, and use an application-specific password for connecting your Google Account to the device itself from Settings > Accounts & sync > Add account. |
