Have done some further testing. Now i have no idea what exchange services does! Have still got the app disabled but still automatically receive emails! So i think you can just leave the app permanently disabled without any detrimental side effects. Imap emails are still received but not any push mail accounts. To receive those emails you need to re-enable the app!
