Same findings as QuietSeditionist. After step 3, the phone freezes  and gets stuck with the black screen and white google logo. I then have to remove the battery to start the phone again. The device is 2 months old, completely stock, never unlocked or rooted as well. Not sure what options I am left with other than requesting a replacement phone through Verizon. Would hate to replace a new phone with a refurb.
