I have just received my Nexus S back from the repair centre.

The repair details are:

Replacement ic/pa/filter
Replacement earpiece

As i reported above when I spoke to someone at the repair centre i was told they were going to be replacing the NAND flash.

I pulled it out of the box and it booted first time! Software version is 2.3.3, I have an update to 2.3.4 available and if I'm feeling brave I'll update it later.
