I have to apologize, it just occurred to me that ical has nothing do do with Google calendars.  ical is Apple (setting up Apple calendars on iPhone isn't too hard).  So now I'm trying to learn how to do what you wanted to do in the first place with syncing Google Calendars and so far I'm having no luck after following step by step instructions. I've had 2 personal Google calendars and Apple's US Holiday calendar on my iPhone, but I can't get any of Google's holiday calendars to show up.  I'm going to keep working on it and will get back here once I figure it out, it can't that hard.  Maybe someone else will find this thread soon and fill us in.
