iPad update: "Error / This operation couldn't be completed. / (com.google.HTTPStatus error 400.)"

Just downloaded the Google app update on iPad. Launches fine, but when I select any application from the Apps menu, I get the error message "This operation couldn't be completed. / (com.google.HTTPStatus error 400.)" Screen grab attached.

Something I'm missing or is it just a dud update?
