Why after changing Password at my computer, the Android Gmail is still working without asking for the new password.

After going through the 2-way verification and Application Verification, my G-mail is working fine at the Andorid phone.
But recently when I changed the password from my computer, I was surprised to see that the Gmail at phone still worked fine and didnt ask me for the new password.

In that case in case the phone is lost then still my G-mail will keep on running on the device even if I change the password from my PC.
Thinking about that is worrying.

Please let me know how to take care of this.
