Thanks for pinging again, Bobby. I just learned something new that sounds like it might be the case here...
Back in your original post you mentioned you'd used an application-specific password (aka an ASP) to set up your phone. If I understand correctly you changed your desktop password, but you may not have revoked the ASP. Since they work like separate passwords, you're still getting your email because your ASP is still valid. In other words, this is working as it's designed to, but if you revoke the ASP then your phone will stop picking up your mail.
