Alas, for me, I've now found that the newst build, 6.9, is even WORSE than the previous build.
On the previous build, I could at least use Navigation WITHOUT Satellite Image Layer on.
Sadly, I find that with the newest build, 6.9, I have all sorts of screen artefact and graphics driver glitches, even using standard mapping mode in Navigation.
Last night, when dragging the Navigation map to look for alternative routes, I started to get lines appear on my screen, that ran straight up, from the map up to the sky. Dragging the map around produced more of them, and confirmed that they were "3D like, issues, as they maintained a 3D qaulity as you moved the map around.
So in truth, 6.9 is even worse, as with the newsest build, it even does this on normal mapping mode in Navigation, not just with Satellite Image layer on.
The previous version only did this with Satellite Imagery layer on for Navigation.
And version 6.1.1 worked FINE for ANY form of Navigation, on the Samsung Galaxy S3
Hope this info helps Daniel - I hope Google rightly see this as a BIG issue, given the handset involved...
