Hello! I've been a user of both 2-step authentication and app-specific passwords for a long time now, and there's this question that has been popping in my head for a while. Why does the Google login page (recently seen on the Flipboard iOS app, when adding my Google+ account, but seen in a couple of different places and devices) asks for my regular account password and then for my Google Authenticator code? Isn't the purpose of app-specific passwords to avoid these situations? Moreover, if I log in with my regular account password, the Google Authenticator input page says that the code may not be remembered because of cookies not being enabled.
Thanks! Nico |
