I have been writing about this issue since early 2011. Every time I launch the Google Maps application on my Android phone, it launches a network location services in the background. This background 'app' doesn't turn off and I can't even force close it. The reason why this is a high priority issue is because it's a huge battery drainer. I average 1 full day with moderate use and it goes down to 3-5 hours if this specific service stays on. It keeps my phone 'awake' until I restart my phone.
I'm signed out of Latitude and any other service that could run off of Google Maps. I have checked, re-checked, and checked again for anything that may have cause this issue.
Does anyone have a solution to this? Thanks. |
