I've a Samsung Nexux S with Android ICS 4.0.4 after some problem synchronizing gmail contacts I've tried to stop the contacts app and delete the stored data to restart the synchronization. The first time it works for a few day but after a couple of weeks I had new errors during sync.

Actually I'm compleately unable to sync contacts because after the last "stop & delete" of the contacts app, the app compleatelly disappear. In the app list I'm not able to see the "telephone" app and in the configuration of the account there is no "contact synchronization" option. I've also tried to try a system recovery and re-install the original apk (found in the ICS 4.0.3 setup zip) but the installation fails.
