Ok, here's my story :-)
I was out on the McKenzie river in Oregon waaaay down a trail and I located an interesting feature on the river. However, to get to it I had to be on the other side of the river. I knew there was a road over there. If only I had some way to mark my current location... But how? Wait! of course! I'm carrying a phone with a GPS and mapping software!
Well, not mapping software because I'm out of data range and GMaps didn't pre-load my maps, but that didn't matter, all I needed was to waypoint my current location, get across the river and hike until I found the point nearest my location.
Except I couldn't find any way to waypoint my current location. Sad Trombone. Please oh please add this feature! And of course the ability to track to the waypoint...
Also, google maps crashes a lot when it doesn't have a data connection.
Thanks,
DougM
