Yes I am in the USA, also i can type it in and it will default back to English, my issue is that the shortcuts that google put in my home page open it in French.  This affects any computer that I log into my Google home page. Have tried removing and replacing the links but still comes up in French.  FYI  I have not been in France in the last 20 years (sad to say)
