Been having the same problem, blank tiles or fails to load completely. Dragging the map is a no no, so is zooming in or out with any semblance of smoothness.

Running Chrome / Win 7 32bit on a netbook (I have the same issues on a mac and on a 2.8Ghz linux machine)

Nothing wrong with Bing maps so will be using that for now until google sorts its shizzle out
