Hello, I am new to this forum! I am a student at an all boys school called Quakerdale Promise Academy. It started in 2008, and has grown to hold more than 40 students. Our Academy is the first in Iowa to have a College Prep Basketball program. The Promise Academy is a privately funded division of Quakerdale. Quakerdale is more than 160 years old and most support has come from the state of Iowa. They having been helping children and families mend relationships whether it be through in-home, and or out of home therapy sessions. Quakerdale has a strong ties with the state, but just recently due to state cuts, we have had to remodel the way we help families in times of need. The Promise Academy, because it started in 2008, is using an online school program called Monarch. All students at the Academy get their education through this online school. All College Prep students use NUVHS or another program that they used prior to coming to the Academy. Right now we are associated as a home-school academic institution. We want to get accredited at a NCAA level, so the basketball program can transfer college credits from us. I am asking to see if we could get any support from Google through our initiative. We want to create a 1:1 Laptop Pilot program with Chrome Books. Students attending the Academy can't necessarily afford to attend our school; student admission price 12,000 per student, per year. Because we use an online school, it would be great to provide all students with laptops. I hope I don't seem like I am ranting, but I would like to see if that is possible. Any suggestions? Please feel free to contact me.... or look at our web site. (We are also in the process of redesigning our site to be tailored to Promise Academy.)
