I successfully started a Hangout on Air, but when I clicked any option other than chat, the interface kind of dissolved and prevented me from clicking any other options (settings, report a problem, etc.). Also, I successfully invited someone else to join the Hangout on Air, but he could not be seen (only an avatar).

We both restarted our browsers (me, Firefox; him, Firefox and Chrome), and he tried on a separate computer. No dice.

What can I do? Are there fewer errors when Hanging Out on Chrome?
