I am seeing this same Issue. I get a screen like the one above (missing invite box) on chrome and chromium but not on safari/firefox.
Chrome version: 19.0.1084.52 Talk plugin: 2.8.8.6978 OS: Mac OS X 10.7.4
If I am invited to a chat I can join properly, however certain apps (e.g: "Docs") Do not work and crash saying "There was an error loading your app. That's all we know" I have observed this for: Docs, youtube and effects. Screenshare and chat however do work.
