As the managing partner of a company that offers professional media production services, I would like to know how CNBC pulled this off. We currently have six HD cameras, a host of outboard digital audio mixers, along with the digital infrastructure necessary to produce content of like quality. We just can't find answers to technical questions, such as how do we take a live HD-SDI feed and ingest it into Google's infrastructure. Is your platform expecting H.264 encoded material? Which codec(s)? What framerates and resolutions are preferred/required? I assume progressive footage is expected.
We are interested in the potential of this platform for both the social media integration as well as the realtime scaling/encoding capabilities for all consumptive devices used by broadcast viewers. I have personally scoured online content over the past six months looking for discussions of these topics by professional broadcasting companies/engineers and I have not been able to find ANYTHING other than superficial commentary (absolutely zero technical details), which is kind of surprising based on what I see as the potential this platform has to offer. |
