how do I help someone else recover her email and password

I am trying to help my friend recover her email and password. Until today her email was on auto sign in, meaning she did not have to sign in as I do not need to sign in. Today she was asked to sign in, She does not use her GMAIL very often and does not remember her email and password. I thought I had it in my files but I do not. Any usable help welcome.
