Guessing that you set up your Gmail account through the BB's email system (Enhanced Googlemail) which automatically sets up syncs between Calendar and Contacts. To see this go into email setup and highlight the account - menu - scroll down to find the syncs and you can disable these if you wish. The system was set up by Blackberry so if you have a complaint you need to go to them and complain.
