Gmail
does not delete any messages from your account (other than Trash and
Spam after about 30-days). If messages are missing it probably for one
of the following reasons:
1. Settings-Filters 2. Settings->Forwarding 3. Settings->POP/IMAP (access from a client, phone, utility, notifier, etc) 4.
Settings->Accounts->Change Account Settings->Other Google
account settings->Authorizing applications & sites (access from a
web-site, utility, etc)
5. Manually (even accidentally or not understanding the difference between labels/folders) 6. Compromised account (a sub-set of #5)
And I don't even know what the POP/IMAP settings are for...?It allows other things (like your cell phone) to connect to your account and download/delete messages. Was this a one-time occurrence, or is it an ongoing problem? |
