I think the answer, EMPIce2k, is because Admiral Page has drafted us into his master plan for waging his upcoming battle between HMS Google and SS Facebook. One of the battleships will not be leaving the Social Media Sea. It could be the longest sea battle in history, because the sea in which this battle will be fought is stretched out over vast areas of our planet in the form of cables and signals.
Yep, Admiral Page demands any who use a Google service support him.
Just look at that neat Google+ advert every time you log out of your Gmail account. Can't miss it. Ever see that Google+ advert when using the Google search service? It's that one that lets us know what personality that has a Google+ account is, at that time, in the news.
And who was it said that advertising was not the goal?
