Yes you Can add can -  You can add your Maps as an Image Overlay

I have attached a KMZ file with an Overlay-ed map of a few Lyttelton Streets as a sample..  You would do the same thing with your own maps.

Have a Fiddle with the Properties of my sample and see how you go....

Your results will only show to you and to any others you share the file with..
