As each time before, people swing into action to help each other. The Student army (young people led by the university students) who are home now for the holidays started in the first Earthquake Sept 2010, to go and clear liquefaction and anything else they could help with. They were joined by other groups, and now people just go out to clean up after each quake. It's amazing to be living in a city like ours. Many houses and sections were cleaned up before the owners got home this time.
People are becoming friends, and supporting and helping each other so much more. This Christmas will be special, in spite of the quakes.
Another Sad part is all the above photos were taken in one of our Red Zones
