My workplace has versioning issues and only installs new versions upon approval of certain government agencies.  In the meantime, I have to make do with deteriorating capability of the version we have.  This is somewhat unprecedented. Previously, you would expect a version of software to do the same thing it did on day one, regardless of the existence of upgrades...the original programs would still do what they did.  Certainly there are allowances for technological advances and required updates to keep up with the technology.  But when features that have obviously been possible with earlier versions are simply removed from them (but kept in the newer versions), this constitutes forced "upgrades", "upgrades" which some of us are unable to obtain.  Shame on you, Google.
