I'm Gene.. I'm originally from Virginia, but I moved to the Chicago suburbs to work at Bell Labs Naperville location. I took an early retirement offer during the dot com crash. I now live in Phoenix and am the system admin for a Chicago custom furniture manufacturer. I do most of my work remotely but travel to the site every 4-6 weeks.

I travel a lot, mostly to Southeast Asia. My favorite activity is backpacking in the remote areas of the Grand Canyon. You can also find me on Google+.
