My experience is the same as SPYsurfer. 

On that note, I have a correction to my original post.  I thought some of the historical data calls were working and some weren't.  But I was mistaken about that.  NONE of them are working -- the only things working for me are actually today's data.

That is, no GoogleFinance(symbol, attribute, date) calls are working.  Without the date parameter, it works & retrieves today's data ok.  With the date, it returns "N/A" & "error: Data temporarily unavailable."
