Going to complain as well.

Google documents "can be printed".  Google documents weren't designed to be printed.

I logged in today and got the whole: Margins, Footers/headers, lack of the ability to edit the html.  Removal of things like the "save button" (yeah its on the top right).

I disabled this new service as quickly as i could find out.  But I'm left questioning: Why was it done?

I get it, you want to be word.  Create documents for printing.  But word is trying to be YOU.  Collaborative software designed to work well with gadgets, blog software, and the web in general.  If you are forcing all people to view their documents as 8'11" (yeah you can change it) as a paper equivalent, its simply WRONG.  Yes, some people MAY want the ability to control where page breaks are, to see on screen approximately how it will print out.  But this isn't universal.

If I want to paste a 5000 pixel piece of art in a document I should be able to and not worry about hot the margins won't fit it.

For the love of jebus add a switches: Enable HTML editing, Disable Margins/Footers/Headers.
