I've just disabled Shockwave Flash Object Add-on from Adobe in IE8 (Windows XP Pro SP3) and now Google docs work again in IE8 without being a member of Administrators group.

However there is a yellow box at the bottom reminding that the web page wants to run disabled add-on.
