How do I solve this problem: documents/spreadsheets no longer open on Google chrome

It happens with some documents and spreadsheets that I have, and it always happen when I create new ones
I get a Javascript confirm saying: This error has been reported to Google and we'll look into it as soon as possible. Please reload this page to continue.

Sometimes I get a jQuery dialog saying:
This error has been reported to Google and we'll look into it as soon as possible.

Please try one of these interim solutions:
    • Reload this page.
    • Download the document by right-clicking on it in the main document list and selecting "Export."

Reloading never works.. The current solution for me is to copy the document/spreadsheet, and work on the copy. I am using Google chrome on ubuntu, the weird thing is that the same docs work perfectly fine on Firefox..
