Thanks for the reports on this! FWIW, this error message was not intended to show up for machines that don't have SSE2 support. 

We're actively working on a fix for this right now, and tracking this issue at: http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=119948. Feel free to click on the star in the upper left corner to track progress.
