i have the googleupdater.exe running in my task manager and still cannot update google

we get the error 7 but the message says that 'the update server is not available' when we try updating by opening about in the browser

after downloading the installer the installation process begins and then halts leading me to a web page including a connection troubleshooter and with the installer reporting  that the installation had failed because of either a lost internet connection or a firewall issue (error code = 0x80072ee7)

i have not recently changed firewall settings so unless Norton and/or the installer changed their relationship in an update all should work

i see that many people have posted having success using the installer with firewall and virus protection disabled and i will try that in the future
