Right click search box text--> Edit search engines...--> click " google.com (Default)" --> Edit
Replace the URL with this one instead:
http://www.google.com/search?source=ig&hl=en&rlz=1G1GGLQ_ENUS264&q=%s&btnI=I%27m+Feeling+Lucky
click OK-->Close
Voilà. Just like FireFox; works nicely.
Explanation: When you go to websites with search engines, google chrome usually saves the search engines in this "Edit search engines" thing, so what I did was I set another search engine as my default(I used wordreference, which kind of got annoying), deleted " google.com" as one of the search engines, and started using the "I'm feeling lucky" search button on google several times. Then, in the "edit search engines", google.com appears again with a different URL (the one I pasted above), and I set that as my default (no keyword necessary!). After doing that, I found out how to save more useful search engines such as youtube, Barnes & Noble, dictionary.com, etc. It seems much more useful than firefox now. |
