Go to OPTIONS
click UNDER THE HOOD
click CONTENT SETTINGS
click PLUG-INS
click DISABLE INDIVIDUAL PLUG-INS
click DETAILS in top right corner
find SHOCKWAVE FLASH and if you see two versions you need to delete the most recent. This is the upper one on your screen. On my machine it's called 10.2.r154
click DISABLE and your SHOCKWAVE FLASH problem is solved.

With regard to Gears 0.5.33.0 I've simply, in the same way, disabled gears. Unfortunately there's no newer version so I'm gearless, so to speak.

However, it isn't cramping my style too much. It's obviously not a proper fix but it will stop Google Chrome from being un-usable, which it was latterly.
