I'm getting the follow error message from Google Chrome whenever my PC re-boots:

"Your preferences can not be read."

"Some features may be unavailable and changes to preferences won't be saved."

Yet it gives me no guidance as to how to solve this problem.  Moreover, Chrome then launches with an old extension I've previously deleted and I have to manually set it.  True to the promise above, none of my changes are saved and it's deja vu the next time I re-boot.

I have searched Google Chrome help pages and can find nothing on this.  Can anyone help me?
