Every time I shift focus from the running Chrome browser to another application Chrome becomes unresponsive.  I have to close the browser and restart to get back to normal.  This happens every time without exception.  Firefox does not exhibit this behavior.

I am running Ubuntu 12.04 beta 64-bit on an Acer Aspire One 722.  I am not using unity, I use gnome classic.
