Feel like we have really started something here. Not only are paid apps now not paying out, Google AdMob is completely taking the p***. I know it was xmas time but during that period, we were making over $250 a day. Now, its dropped to $60 despite adding a third in traffic and of course ad requests. Looking through forums, it seems Google have changed the way people can bid on their advertising space and guess who is losing out - us, BIG TIME!
I cant believe a company such as Google does not have a representative of the developer community, someone who looks through these posts, feeds back to Google and in turn feeds back to us developers. How can it be possible and right for Google to slash earnings so drastically it becomes pointless to develop on Android. We have nearly 2 million downloads across our applications, a very high traffic turn over, a pretty high click through rate and the eCPMs just keep dropping.
Anyone know or can think of any alternatives that are proven? Ive always relied on the paid revenue to be stable and now it seems its not the case, I am unable to run a a business in this way. This supports my family, I cant believe how little they care about the development community - Just seems like Google never think things through, just throw half finished work up all over the place, pretty poor documentation, poor console, poor account management, poor advertising revenue - why? They are sinking themselves and taking us with them. Sigh. |
