My laptop recognizes my web camera -- I can see a video of myself in the small Gmail chat window and I can see the person with whom I am chatting, but I am unable to send my camera image to the person with whom I am chatting regardless of who they are or what computer they use. This happens regardless of who the other party is so it must be settings in my Gmail/computer, not theirs. I have searched every possible setting in gmail. I have reloaded the camera driver and reinstalled it numerous times -- all to no avail. I have enabled the video enhancement in Labs. I have removed Google from the compatibility list in Internet Explorer which is the browser I use. I have Adobe Flash Player 11 ActiveX and Adobe Flash Player 11 PlugIn. Does this have anything to do with it: "Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable" ? If this isn't soon resolved, I'm dumping Gmail for Skype. Too frustrating.
