It would be really nice to be able to set a limit on the number of notifications you receive within a certain time frame per user you're chatting with.  For example, my girlfriend likes to press enter, very, very often when chatting with me.  So for example, if she were chatting this idea to you, she may hit enter 6-10 times.  When using gchat on my android device I get a notification for each time enter is pressed by the person I'm chatting with.  It would be nice if I could adjust a setting to only receive one notification every 15 minutes. So if she hit enter 20 times between 1pm and 1:15, my phone would buzz the first time, but not until she sends the next message after this 15 minute interval had elapsed.
