I did reply to an existing thread, one that the last response was 2010 so perhaps a new thread is appropriate.  Echo is bad and I saw the solution of moving the speakers but I really can't place the speakers any further away and besides, on Skype this is not an issue.  Another problem and this could be related is Google Video Chat does not cancel out background noises well.
