Some laptops mount the camera upside down, and the drivers are not detecting, correcting and/or reporting it. On Windows there are 2 drivers - a generic UVC device, which likely wouldnt work, and a camera/laptop specific driver. Your best bet is to look for Asus G50V webcam drivers and install those.
A work around is to use an external webcam - a benefit is you can get higher picture quality. Something like a Logitech C310 is good quality at a reasonable price.
As far as a button to rotate, that is in the works - watch for a 'Flip' effect. But likely a couple of months away.
