Best practice for calendar sharing in small business

Imagine this scenario

4 employees
each has their own Google account
each of them shares their calendar with each other

if an employee has a personal appointment (such as visit to a doctor) that they'd prefer others didn't know the specifics about - how would you do it?

would you create an event in a personal calendar with full description and then create a duplicate event in a shared work calendar with just date and time??

can anybody think of a way to not have to create two events?
