Mishka, the workaround worked wonderfully.  Thank you!  I wrote a test blog with no title under "compose," and posted it.  Then I went back and clicked on "new post" and this time the new post screen acted properly, accepting my keystrokes for both the title and the body text.  I published that post, and then went back and created two more new posts.  So far, the program has not reverted back to the initial problem.  (To tell you the truth, I don't remember whether I typed up those three catch-up posts under "compose" or "html.")  But if it does, I'll know what to do.  Thanks again.

By the way, what's the best way to get back to this thread? Your e-mail, and Krishna's both say, "to view this post online, visit %message_url."  I don't know how to do that, or even what that means.  So I go to the forum, click on "something's broken," and scroll down until I find my original query.  Is there an easier way?

Thanks --

Hugh
