If requiring an additional account was simply a technical limitation, then perhaps Google could have a policy of issuing a single free account to those that request one for BlackBerry Connector use? This would at least show that it's in purely a technical limitation and isn't some attempt to generate revenue from a supposedly inclusive feature.
