|How do I remove AdSense from my YouTube Account?||ProjectCarTV||2/4/11 1:05 PM|
I asked this question in the AdSense Forum and was told that AdSense couldnt solve my issues and that I should talk with a Google/YouTube Employee instead. Here is the actual thread for reference:
It's kind of a long one but I need help from an Employee of Google/YouTube. I have tried writing but all I have gotten is automated responses. Please help!
I'm hoping to recieve an answer and have my problem solved by an AdSense Pro as it is a complex question. I have a YouTube Channel http://www.youtube.com/ProjectCarTV which is in good standing with YouTube Terms of Service. I had a roomate who claimed to be a "a pro when it comes to AdSense" who turned out to be nothing but a thief and was evicted from my residence.
This person claimed to have working knowledge of AdSense and YouTube Partnership which turned out to be nothing but a lie. This person opened an AdSense account and attached it to my YouTube Account through my YouTube/Gmail Address. This person fraudulently opened an AdSense using my email and THEIR NAME which was disabled within a days time - the day theu were evicted from my house.
My problem is that my YouTube page (on the Youtube.com/Account) page shows that my account is linked to this disabled AdSense account that I did not open. This person opened an AdSense Account from my Gmail address but did NOT USE MY NAME. They used their OWN name and info.
My YouTube account is in good standing and I would like to apply for YouTube Partnership. I currently have four videos enabled with revenue sharing through my own AdSense account which is also in good standing. BUT, when I go to the youtube.com/account page (user front page/overview page) it says
Your AdSense account for this login is currently disabled. We recommend checking your email inboxes for any messages we may have sent you regarding your account status. Sometimes our messages can be caught by email filters, so please be sure to check the Bulk/Spam folders of your email accounts as well.
If your account was disabled for invalid click activity, please visit our Disabled Account FAQ for more information."
I threatened this person with legal action and they admitted that they had opened an AdSense account under my Gmail projec...@gmail.com. I promptly logged into gmail and closed that account.
My current log in for my ProjectCarTV YouTube account is a Yahoo email address. My Adsense account is through another Gmail account that I have had for years - which is now attached to ProjectCarTV for revenue sharing on a per video basis.
My question is - how can I remove that initial projectcartv@gmail and Adsense account from my Current YouTube page to apply for Partnership?
It was never my intention, nor is it now to defraud AdSense or YouTube. The only reason allowed access to this person ws because they claimed they knew what they were doing. Not only has this person screwed up my YouTube Channel, but they also skipped out on rent and stole my television as well.
This person has no access to my current account and I would like to solve this so I can apply for Partnership.
I believe I have a lot to offer the Automotive Community on YouTube.
AdSense Pros/Google Employees - PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!
or if some high level good summaritan AdSense user can please flag this for review, I would really appreciate it. I can help you fix your car and give advice in return LOL please help me.

It is unfortunate that PeggyK sent you to the partner forum since this is an Adsense issue. There is no way for you to contact the YouTube staff, unless you are a Partner.
The easiest way right now would be to open a new Adsense account if you are accepted to the Partner Program. Or you can mention the previous Adsense account if you are accepted but it will be a challenge.
If you have a website to place advertising, you may want to set it up and then try the invalid activity appeal and explain what happened with your former room mate. If you do not have a place to put advertising, you will be wasting your time appealing because it will be denied.

You say you have 4 vids in IVP with your own AdSense account? Are they on another channel or are you not receiving payments since you're still attached to the inactive AdSense account?
If a TC sees this, it's possible they can escalate it to a YT employee. It seems to me they should be able to dis-associate the bad account behind the scenes, allowing your to associate your real account when you apply for Partnership, but I'm really not sure.
|Re: How do I remove AdSense from my YouTube Account?||ProjectCarTV||2/4/11 10:02 PM|
Colette W - I am using my own personnal AdSense account. This person opened an AdSense account using my Gmail address because they knew the password, but under my YouTube homepage their NAME is still listed as one of my "products" (AdSense) which it isn't. I never signed up with my Gmail account - nor was it ever under my name, nor were any payments ever given.
tjw1963 - I'm not going to try and Open another AdSense account because I already have one in my own name, info, everything, that is up and running. Opening another AdSense account could ruin my current account - furthermore - applying for Partnership without an AdSense account is a no-no. You need to have an AdSense account BEFORE approval. If you are approved but don't have an AdSense account, your Partnership will be denied as you can't link an account with AdSense and you have a limited amount of time.
All I need is for the disabled account to be removed from my YouTube account. I have already closed the gmail address associated with it (but I can reopen it). My YouTube page has videos with IVP through my AdSense account - I would like to remove the disabled account (since I was never the owner) and attach fully my AdSense account that has IVP already.
It's frustrating, especially since I'm not even the owner. As far as the Appeal process, I dont even have the Publisher ID to file a claim. I looked through my emails (using Google Dashboard which saves everything) and there was never an email explaining it being disabled. I'm not even sure if it was disabled for invalid click activity in the first place. At the time that this occured, I didnt even have many videos with ebough views to get IVP invites in the first place. The IVP invites came AFTER the AdSense account was already disabled.

I checked through my Gmail address that it says AdSense was disabled on before I closed it. I opened a Yahoo account, removed my Gmail account once I changed the password, then connected my YouTube Channel to the New Yahoo Account.
Make sense, sort of?
HELP! I need a human to sort this out! I can offer you plenty of car tutorials in return!

>> It is unfortunate that PeggyK sent you to the partner forum since this is an Adsense issue. There is no way for you to contact the YouTube staff, unless you are a Partner.Just to clarify: I'm a TC in the AdSense help forum and the information I was given was that the un-linking of the disabled AdSense account from ProjectCarTV's YouTube account is something YouTube would have to do. There is nothing that could be done in this particular situation from the AdSense end of things.
|Re: How do I remove AdSense from my YouTube Account?||Teresa_||2/5/11 5:04 AM|
Anyone can have an Adsense account without being a YouTube Partner! Adsense accounts are not linked to YouTube until the person becomes a full Partner or is invited to revenue sharing. YouTube and Adsense come default with new Google accounts. The account is linked through Google Accounts.
|Re: How do I remove AdSense from my YouTube Account?||Teresa_||2/5/11 5:09 AM|
@ProjectCarTV: You can only have one Adsense account. If you become a Partner, you will use your existing valid Adsense to link to your YouTube channel. If you have 50 YouTube channels, you will use the 1 Adsense account to link all channels to revenue sharing.

If you have videos enabled for revenue sharing, you can contact partner support by visiting the link below.

(ProjectCarTV: correct me if this is an inaccurate summary)
ProjectCarTV has videos enabled for revenue sharing.
They were unfortunately linked to his friend's AdSense account which got disabled.
ProjectCarTV has his own AdSense account which is in good standing.
What he is trying to get assistance with is unlinking his friend's disabled AdSense account from his YouTube channel so that he can link his own active AdSense account.
And yes, partner support is probably going to have to help him with the unlinking (if it's possible), which is why he was sent to the YouTube Partner forum from the AdSense forum.
|Re: How do I remove AdSense from my YouTube Account?||Teresa_||2/5/11 4:25 PM|
If his Adsense is disabled, then he will no longer be recognized as a partner or eligible for assistance from partner help. From what he wrote above to me, it appears he already has an active Adsense so I do not see what the problem is.

@ProjectCarTV: Does it look like you have a way to unlink your YouTube channel from the existing Google account? I am thinking that if you already have video
|Re: How do I remove AdSense from my YouTube Account?||ProjectCarTV||2/5/11 11:20 PM|
ProjectCarTV has videos enabled for revenue sharing. - Yes. Through my own account which I've owned for years.
They were unfortunately linked to his friend's AdSense account which got disabled. - The AdSense account that was disabled was opened using the Gmail address that I opened my YouTube accoutn with. My email address, their first and last name. Originally, the plan was to allow this person to set up my AdSense and YouTube linking using my own AdSense account. They had my password and info and said that they would set everything up, instead, the opened a new AdSense account with my Gmail, but their name. I dont think the AdSense account was disabled for invalid clicks, rather disabled because they then had two AdSense accounts in their name. I think the reason why they used their name was because they had a website with which their name was attached as well.
ProjectCarTV has his own AdSense account which is in good standing. - Yes. Different gmail address than all of this though.
What he is trying to get assistance with is unlinking his friend's disabled AdSense account from his YouTube channel so that he can link his own active AdSense account. - Yes. That exactly what I need. I closed the Gmail address with the disabled AdSense account because I wasnt sure why this person had used their own name to open the account. I created a Yahoo email address in hopes that changing the email connection with YouTube would drop off the AdSense account because the Gmail address was now closed too. It didnt work.
And yes, partner support is probably going to have to help him with the unlinking (if it's possible), which is why he was sent to the YouTube Partner forum from the AdSense forum - I've been sent all over the place. I've gotten all kind of advice, some good, some bad, but what I really need is an employee to write to me at projec...@yahoo.com and delete the diabled AdSense account projec...@gmail.com from http://www.youtube.com/projectcartv
Thank you for your help so far Peggy!

content with revenue sharing and a valid Adsense, then you may be able
I've already tried that. I opened a Yahoo email in hopes that this would cure my problem. It didnt. The disabled AdSense account is still attached even though the Gmail address associated with the disabled AdSense account is closed.

If you made a new Google account you could always change it in YouTube>Account Settings>Manage Account
This is what I see from my YouTube page.
>>Change which Google Account is linked to this account
Change the Google Account associated with this YouTube account to a different existing Google Account or to a brand new one.Change Google Accounts

If i remove my adsense account will i still be able to post on youtube and apply for partnerships etc ?
|Re: How do I remove AdSense from my YouTube Account?||PeggyK||4/15/12 2:55 PM|
If you try to remove your AdSense account by closing it or deleting it, that may result in the monetization tab of your YouTube channel being disabled. It's not a good idea to do that if you are interested in monetizing or partnership in the future.
