|Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||skratchwiz pc||12/19/12 3:13 PM|
I've received two emails in regards to 'Violation of TOU #4 Section H'. Apparently for some strange reason the two videos in question received more views than normal and YouTube are saying that I'm responsible for these unaccountable views. IE I've used some kind of robot.
I've not used such a thing as I use my channel in the correct manor and I've never publish anything that breaks any kind of violation. The problem is that the first email came through and said if this happened again then my account would be suspended, three minutes later the second email came through.
Does this now mean my account is no more?
Both videos were uploaded at the same time nearly three months ago, the only thing I did do was promote those two videos through Adwords, which I've paid for the clicks.
I hope someone from YouTube can help me out here.

The same thing has happened to me. No idea why or what it is from. Would really like to hear more about this. I have never used any services they claim I am using. Anyone else get this?
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||SalonSearch||12/19/12 3:20 PM|
I just got this also.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||skratchwiz pc||12/19/12 3:26 PM|
Did your account get suspended?
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||TheWuMyster||12/19/12 3:29 PM|
Happened with me aswell! Got both emails and they say the same thing. I have worked hard on one of the videos that have been taken down as it has over 100k views! I am extremely upset. I was sitting there just flabbergasted that this has happened to me. I hope I will get my videos reinstated.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||JustinYT||12/19/12 3:34 PM|
Has anyone heard back about this situation? And you guys got 2 emails about it? I only got one. Have any of you been suspended?
A reply would be nice.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Steven Washer||12/19/12 3:35 PM|
Same thing just happened to me. Someone actually was able to send a ton of fake views to my account on a video I created about why you shouldn't buy fake views. So they got away with it and now I'm about to lose my account.
It seems that no one's account is safe as anyone can hack into it and do whatever they want in there.

Same thing has happened to me just now! I got one of my videos taken down and one email saying i have Violation of TOU #4 Section H. Section H refers to using automated bots and I can safely say I havent the first clue on how to even use a bot! This is really concerning
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||room94online||12/19/12 3:38 PM|
I too have just received these emails, however I've received 3!! I have NEVER used any software of any sort to boost views, I have been building up a solid fan base on and off youtube for 5 years now and I am VERY angry/upset that youtube has deleted these 3 videos and perhaps will now delete my entire account + all my videos. My youtube accounts total views are 1.2 million!! How can I contact youtube to appeal?! Perhaps this is a screw up by youtube if a few of us are receiving these emails?!?!?!
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||TheWuMyster||12/19/12 3:38 PM|
Ive got two but my accounts still up thankfully. But i still cant live with that video being removed. I spent so much time on it.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||skratchwiz pc||12/19/12 3:40 PM|
Not been suspended yet, I've got everything crossed!!!
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||TheWuMyster||12/19/12 3:42 PM|
Im pretty sure this is a screw up. How can all of us be receiving these. Damn 1.2 million! Thats gotta be heart breaking.
Ive started this youtube channel (2nd one) a few months ago and im growing steadily. Im so angry about this.
Ive received my emails at 10:28PM and 11:10PM GMT
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||skratchwiz pc||12/19/12 3:44 PM|
Let's hope someone from YouTube reads this thread!!
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||room94online||12/19/12 3:46 PM|
It's so annoying! As a band we've worked for years building up fans, gaining more and more views on our videos, so for youtube to go delete our videos and us now facing a possible account suspension for no reason is stupid! I don't have the first clue about using some sort of robot to gain views!
How can I contact youtube to appeal??

Does anyone know how to make an appeal? I have never done anyhting they are saying.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Adam DP||12/19/12 3:53 PM|
I'm currently on 1.6 million views and i've put nothing but blood sweat and tears into the channel. I haven't got the first clue on how to use bots or spiders nor would I want to know how to use them! It's got to be a mistake!
To be honest i'm getting scared to even log into youtube at the moment seeing as im getting accused of this, getting perfectly good videos deleted and getting threatened with suspensions... is this really how you want to users to feel youtube?... scared to log in?
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||JustinYT||12/19/12 4:08 PM|
I agree 100%. YouTube can't just go out of their way and automatically detect videos that have potentially used "spiders" or "robots" or what ever they call them. They have no proof. Someone random could send a robot to view a view like 100,000 times and that person would have their video removed and account potentially suspended? There is no proof. YouTube this is a serious flaw aimed directly at your creators. The people who use your site to upload content. A site where YOU generate revenue from OUR videos. come on.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Steven Washer||12/19/12 4:10 PM|
Is this what happens when any company has an effective monopoly on something? In this case, none of us has done anything wrong except work our asses off trying to make a good channel, but there is no one to bring our case to.
I just noticed that someone's post got deleted. Why? They're obviously monitoring this thread, but remain completely non-responsive. This is getting Kafka-esque!!
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Alastair Owen||12/19/12 4:14 PM|
Same thing happened to us. An email just came through saying our video had been deleted and it has been. It had 35,000 views, but we're a new band and those 35,000 views came through a lot of time and money spent on pr and adwords. YouTube, please help...
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||shorty82||12/19/12 4:14 PM|
I'm thinking there must be some sort of issue with the system they use to determine these things. The sudden and extreme drop in view counts that a lot of people have experienced and now many people are getting their videos deleted and accounts suspended for using bots makes me think something is wrong.
This needs to be brought to the attention of YouTube ASAP.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Louanna Lee||12/19/12 4:15 PM|
I received Notices that 2 of my videos were in violation of Section #4 - H.
Both were removed within the last 2 hours. Is this some kind of purge? I have always tried to follow the TOS.
I am not even sure how these robot spiders work much less how to apply them. I understand than a person can randomly select a video and apply a robot spider to it???

3 of my videos have been removed as well. I didn't even know these "robots" or "spiders" existed. My last few videos have gotten over 100,000 views and I can't believe they're just gone without any chance for me to defend myself. Please fix this YouTube!
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||skratchwiz pc||12/19/12 4:24 PM|
I've got a question, how many of you used Adwords to promote the videos in question? Maybe that has something to do with it!

I got the same email and I am pissed... They are saying I used "robots," "spiders," or "offline readers.. I have never done anything like that.. Hell I don't even know how to do any of that.. I got 1 email saying if it happens again I would be suspended and then received another email 25 minutes later. So far my account is still up but I am still pissed and afraid they may try and suspend my account.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Ceylon Wise||12/19/12 4:29 PM|
I only monetized my videos with the in stream option in the YouTube settings.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Ceylon Wise||12/19/12 4:34 PM|
Has anyone else had extremely delayed view counts? It takes up to two full weeks for my view numbers to reflect the views from the upload date.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||SoulCulture||12/19/12 4:34 PM|
We've just had the same thing happen to 5 of our videos in the last 2 hours and we cannot understand why.
We have worked hard to gain nearly 20,000 subscribers and 11,000,000 + views. This is absurd and we cannot reach anyone at youtube for any clarification.
Our account is in good standing and we have worked hard to maintain this.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||War Room Jimmy||12/19/12 4:35 PM|
I was not using Adwords and still received the emails.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||room94online||12/19/12 4:36 PM|
I've never used adwords, only ever promoted videos on facebook pages & twitter accounts! Is there no way to contact youtube? How do we appeal? Surely this has to be an error.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||UKArchive||12/19/12 4:44 PM|
Yeah, me too. Had one email a few hours ago saying they'd deleted a video for using robots or spiders or something like that. What's going on Youtube?!
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||War Room Jimmy||12/19/12 4:45 PM|
Same here. Our videos are promoted through social networks and have been picked up by outside blogs but we have never used adwords. This has to be a mistake.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Steven Washer||12/19/12 4:49 PM|
Yes! Anyone can apply a robot spider to anyone else's video. It happened to me and now I'm about to lose my channel because someone figured out how to silence me. All you have to do is bombard someone's channel with a bunch of fake views and ipso facto they're gone!!
And there is no one to appeal this to.
They encourage you to use the system to build your business, then shut you down for no reason at all. This is totally insane.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||War Room Jimmy||12/19/12 4:55 PM|
WOW!!! So a competitor could intentionally send a spider or bot to my channel and get my account terminated without my knowledge? That is a major issue..
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||ConfusedDD1||12/19/12 5:02 PM|
I JUST GOT THE SAME THING TWICE!!! I just had 2 of my videos taken down. 1 video I posted 4 YEARS AGO and the other I posted 2 weeks ago. My most recent video had over 110,000 views and my account is really starting to get some attention. My videos have been posted by online magazine sites and a ton of fan pages. They all used that link and now it says it's in violation. Very embarrassing and uncool!
I have done nothing that falls under violation of their Terms. I don't know how to use botts or spamers or whatever!!! Myself and my kids put a lot of work into that video. NOT FAIR!!! They should provide someone to speak with from their office.
DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO ACTUALLY CONTACT SOMEONE? I've been trying but to no avail.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||shorty82||12/19/12 5:06 PM|
YouTube staff do come onto these forums but not often. What needs to happen is that a Top Contributor needs to send a note to YouTube about this, they have the ability to do so.
I recommend that everyone affected not only post about it here but to also use the Send Feedback link on YouTube.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||War Room Jimmy||12/19/12 5:07 PM|
I feel the same way. My videos started to pick up a following after being picked up by a couple blogs and now this.. SMH.. This has to be a mistake
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Steven Washer||12/19/12 5:14 PM|
Yes, you could be shut down, but not without your knowledge. YouTube will rub salt in the wound first by telling you that you caused it, THEN they'll shut you down.
I can't believe they haven't thought of this and that no one there gives a damn.
This is a total freaking nightmare.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||j.wridemusic||12/19/12 5:14 PM|
Had the same thing happen. Our video got taken down. Reuploading it but it is frustrating. If anyone knows how to appeal this PLEASE let me know!
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||JustinYT||12/19/12 5:19 PM|
A complete nightmare. YouTube is one of the biggest parts of my life, as I am sure it is the majority of you. The fact that someone can come in and send spider robots or whatever to our videos and we get penalized without proof and can potentially loose our channel is disgusting to be honest. How can a company run this way? Especially one that relies solely on it's content makers......
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Kevin_K.||12/19/12 5:20 PM|
So it seems like you guys are having a bit of a hard time finding some resources. This seems weird.
If you visit this page: "Appealing your video strike", you can scroll down to the "Appealing Community Guidelines Strikes" section and read what they have there to appeal the action they've taken towards your video.
This is currently the only resource I've found, I will reply again if I find any more pages that could be useful.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Kevin_K.||12/19/12 5:22 PM|
Hehe... Didn't realize the confusing text of my previous post.
"This seems weird" is referring to the issue with the views. ;)
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||ConfusedDD1||12/19/12 5:45 PM|
Where is the "Send feedback" link?
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||shorty82||12/19/12 5:52 PM|
On the new layout: Bottom right corner of every page, it moves with you when you scroll down. Grayish-black box with "Send Feedback" in white.
Old layout: Very bottom of page near the middle.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||LikePlus FollowMe||12/19/12 6:04 PM|
This reminds me of the first phase of Facebook's "operation Unlike".
The Like button got disabled for 30 days. If you appealed hower thy just extended it from 30 to 60 days.
Watch the media guys. Too many people have been effected. Celebs, music industry, movie industry, you know who the big buyers are.
Let's watch the media and see how this will blow up in Youtube's face.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Steven Washer||12/19/12 6:19 PM|
Kevin, YouTube is striking down our videos but not giving us any official notification on our accounts. The account says "Good standing" everywhere, so it all looks fine, but there's no link to acknowledge what they've done to you (like a cop making you sign the ticket, I suppose) so that you can appeal it.
I took your advice and appealed a non-existent suspension to let them know what this new threat is doing to some of us, but without an official acknowledgement of the reason for that feedback form, I suppose it will just go back into the ether.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||War Room Jimmy||12/19/12 6:36 PM|
Steve I did exactly the same thing.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||shorty82||12/19/12 6:45 PM|
I'm thinking this must be some kind of bug, I doubt this wide ranging deletion of videos was intentional. Being that it is almost 7 o'clock at night in California, where YouTube is headquartered, most of the employees probably went home hours ago so there's not many, if any, there that can address this issue. We can hope that they're already on it trying to fix this, calling people in if need be, but there's no way of knowing. It started late in the afternoon/evening and I would think that if it was intentional they'd have done it earlier, while there were employees around to keep an eye on things.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Carlos Florez||12/19/12 7:00 PM|
I just got the same emails from youtube about 5 of my short films. I have used google adwords to market it, is that illegal? its the same company. I'm very angry right now too, its very hard to discuss this with youtube, all their links to appeal /defend ourselves are hidden or non existent?
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||ConfusedDD1||12/19/12 7:02 PM|
That doesn't change the fact that I can't find WHERE to actually type the appeal.

Im an artist from Brazil and i NEVER used any illegal way to gain views or anything, i invested a lot of money on the promotion of my video via adwords, facebook and press releases to promote my video clip.
Today they deleted it for violation of TOU without notices, i REALLY want to have it solved as soon as possible, because is my work, time and money thats being wasted here. I was becoming famous outside my country with views from all over the world, and suddenly the video vanished.
The link for the video was http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9DyPXDYNqBI
Hope ill get my video again and be contacted by any admins here.

I posted the message below in the partner forums (since we're partners), but it got moved to another thread in this area. I thought it would be more appropriate to append it to this thread:
Just received a Violation of TOU #4 Section H for a video with NO clue what triggered it. My only guess is that we've been bot attacked. We've been doing purely positive, upbeat videos for YEARS with no problems whatsoever. My account shows that we're all green (good standing). However, after endless hours of hard work for the past 4.5 years (launched in early 2008) and over 155 videos, I'm concerned about this unwarranted threat that if this issue pops up again, we'll just get suspended.
I wrote to YouTube partner support and legal today, but this is the issue that has always concerned me about investing work in YouTube. On a whim, we might just get cut off. Also, the timing is weird, we've been contacted by several of the YouTube networks lately…they know we've been looking into expanding our work.

|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||collideent||12/20/12 12:37 AM|
Same thing happened here. Never used bots, the video only has 11,000 views. This is the text of the email. Something needs to be done - this is ridiculous.
This following video was found in Violation of TOU #4 Section H:
"You agree not to use or launch any automated system, including without limitation, "robots," "spiders," or "offline readers," that accesses the Service in a manner that sends more request messages to the YouTube servers in a given period of time than a human can reasonably produce in the same period by using a conventional on-line web browser. Notwithstanding the foregoing, YouTube grants the operators of public search engines permission to use spiders to copy materials from the site for the sole purpose of and solely to the extent necessary for creating publicly available searchable indices of the materials, but not caches or archives of such materials. YouTube reserves the right to revoke these exceptions either generally or in specific cases. You agree not to collect or harvest any personally identifiable information, including account names, from the Service, nor to use the communication systems provided by the Service (e.g., comments, email) for any commercial solicitation purposes. You agree not to solicit, for commercial purposes, any users of the Service with respect to their Content."
Please note that your video content has been removed. You may reupload your removed videos in such a way that is not violative of our TOU.
YouTube takes the abuse of its system very seriously. Any user found gaming views, subscribers, meta-data or otherwise misleading users will have their account statistics wiped on the first offense, and on the second offense have their account permanently terminated.
Many users trust their account to outside marketers who claim to be able to increase views, etc. You are responsible for activity that happens on your account, and are responsible for knowing and abiding by our terms - this means understanding the nature of the traffic on your channel and making sure you are in compliance with our terms.

There is nothing stopping these artists adding views to their videos. There is no proof I have or we have done anything wrong ? I am deeply disapointed with this can some one please provide and email address?

As this really seems to be an issue maybe one of the top contributors could escalate it to Youtube's staff.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||stuartindigo||12/20/12 3:00 AM|
As there are multiple threads on this issue, I've escalated to staff separately.
When/IF I get a response I'll let you know.

This has happened me as well - I received 3 emails, all sent at the same time. One video was on about 5000 views but the other two were lower on about 700 each. All 3 have been up for about 2 years and no software/bot of any kind has been used on the channel. The videos have been removed but the account is in place.
Surely there is some way to appeal this or make a complaint?

|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Lukay HITMAYKA||12/20/12 3:59 AM|
Same thing happened to me too. In fact 3 of my videos got deleted. The first 2 were uploaded around the same (about 3 days apart), and the 3rd a week later. In fact, the 3rd video had about 1.1 Million Views. That''s really mess up and unprofessional from such a big company as YouTube. I'm from Canada. My song and my video was featured on national TV, and now YouTube simply deletes it.
YouTube, be professional and reliable and fix this situation/bug. We have worked TOO HARD.

|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Adam DP||12/20/12 4:04 AM|
Whats really weird is we ALL got the SAME EMAIL, all at the SAME TIME. It's as if some big automated sweep has just been deleting our videos at the push of a single button somewhere at Youtube HQ.
Youtube is going to end up like Myspace at this rate... no active users and everyone leaving to find an alternative site simply down to the way its treating its users - whether it be in error or not. IT NEEDS FIXING AND FAST.

|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||SalonSearch||12/20/12 4:07 AM|
What about the marketing companies that offer services that get you views which I've heard many people use that say they are 100% safe and human and people watch your videos when in fact they are the ones using bot programs it seems. They are the ones that should be gone after when all we are trying to do is build a brand/business and now we are getting screwed. My video that was taken down earned so many hits because it was aired from a live major event that was out before TV aired it so it had a ton if views in a short time. I worked so hard that night to have it taken down. It was painful to go from tens if thousands if views to now 2 since I reu

Here's a Way I found to contact them.
From this page on their site (http://support.google.com/youtube/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=77402) it says this:
The "here" points to the following email address: secu...@youtube.com
I have also came across their media email address: pr...@youtube.com
Maybe if WE ALL follow their instruction as mentioned above and ALL contact them, it might fix things a little faster as this truly seems to be a bug (security issue or vulnerability) in their system.
So let's go!

Everyone email YouTube using the send feedback button (bottom right corner of your channel) If we have enough people contacting them today then they might release a statement explaining whats going on. Although I'm pretty sure they are already aware of our thoughts seeing as they are monitoring this forum and deleting posts.

I had 20 videos removed being 'in violation of the TOU #4 Section H' within a period of 1 hour and 13 minutes on the 20th December. I'm from Australia and couldn't believe that they were doing this, as I have been legitimately getting my views and they have merrily removed the videos. My account is still up, but I am unable to upload or re-upload any videos at all. I have promotions running on ReverbNation at the moment which includes one of those deleted videos. Not good.

This happened to me too, and there's no way to directly contact YouTube for any clarification. Every view of my videos has been very transparent, from an actual viewer in some part of the world. YouTube has shown very poor discretion, and they're apparently not interested in our videos. I am going to look for an alternate location like flickr or vimeo to upload.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||rasmussjoegren||12/20/12 7:08 AM|
The same thing happened to us - received the TOU #4 Section H mail yesterday.
We are a band located in Denmark and had 250.000 views on a music video that somehow got caught in this. We have definitely not used any "robots", "spiders" or given our password to anyone.
This is a huge blow for us, since the link has been sent to loads of important people this week and is right now featured on various online-sites, where a really nasty sign on the video site is what people see when they click on our video.
Like some of you wrote - it's nice to know that someone else in the same position, so let's hope this will be revoked soon. I've also written to their feedback.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||rasmussjoegren||12/20/12 7:12 AM|
.... and for some reason I'm not allowed to upload the video again.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||ConfusedDD1||12/20/12 7:17 AM|
If Youtube believed it may be a possibility that people were using bots, then they should have given everyone a stern WARNING. That probably would have stopped the few people who were using bots from no longer doing so. And then youtube could have monitored everything. They should just assume from a diagnostic that they looked at. What about videos like Gangnam Style. I'm sure all of it's views are legit, but I doubt that it went up 1 random view at a time, etc...
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||TJ Lasinski||12/20/12 7:20 AM|

|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||ConfusedDD1||12/20/12 10:06 AM|
Inside source. But hopefully you are right and they are trying to fix the problem, but if they were, then wouldn't they release a small statement or have it in their "Current Site issues" which they do not.
Check out that section with the link bellow.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||shorty82||12/20/12 10:09 AM|
In my experience they like to ignore the users and not tell them anything, not even to say they are aware of the problem and are working on it.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||ConfusedDD1||12/20/12 10:22 AM|
Well, youtube does have a section of their site where they post current bugs in their system since people are asking about it a lot. CHECK OUT THIS LINK.
And it's not hard for 1 google person to write "We are looking into the matter." And leave it at that. Youtube has made it so that certain business are dependant of them and then they leave us hanging.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||beaudiangelo||12/20/12 10:27 AM|
fucking hate youtube for doing this.
This is what i know now.(wich can be faulty)
Since last night they have been busy with resetting view counts as in : deleted video's by users/YT himself result in that video's views are withdraw from your total channel view count (has not happend to me, but thousands got in it)
They did our thing on purpose, 'New' automated system checks video diagnostics and see's an abnormal % in a possitive manner to go up.
BOOOOOM gets a freaking warnig and shit freaking video is missing + they tell me im a kind of hacker that uses robots? wtf is that anyway? like a metal freak clicking my mouse over and over again>?
WTF IS GOING ON..
(funny if u read this and compare to the first sentence..)
Peace. (not to yt..)
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||KaranGupta||12/20/12 10:41 AM|
youtube him self use automatic system and bots and now they don't even care about us not even have time to give us response
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Mars and Vans||12/20/12 10:53 AM|
Nothing could beat the joy of reading something that looks like this: "Unfortunately [large company] have been unable to proceed with the proposed agreement as it appears some of your portfolio content has been removed from the internet due to Terms and Conditions violations. As I am sure you understand, because of the tight timescales involved, this means we have had to pass the opportunity to someone else instead..."
Three months, £1800, all gone overnight? Devastated couldn't even cover it.
Happy holidays to you too, YouTube.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Adam DP||12/20/12 11:31 AM|
Say this was the problem and YT was deleting videos where views suddenly stop increasing at a steady rate... not all videos will have high views retention. It doesn't mean the views are not genuine just because they stop suddenly. For example if a video was featured on the front page of a popular website - it would get a major spike in its views. As soon as that popular site replaces your video with someone else's video, your views would dramatically decrease or even stop.
So this is not an accurate way of determining genuine/non-genuine views if this is the reason why YT is deleting videos.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Jay1335||12/20/12 11:37 AM|
Same thing here. It has ruined my day!!
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||skratchwiz pc||12/20/12 11:56 AM|
I'm so glad I started this thread, it nice to know(well, not nice actually)I'm not on my own!
To me it looks like some kind of YT glitch, the only thing is that if they reinstate all the lost videos I'm going to be at a loss because I deleted them myself after I received the email last night. This means now I'll have to re-upload and start my view count at zero. :(
I just want to point out the one of the reasons I had so many hits on the two deleted videos is because it was a product review for a major company, and I had the first worldwide unboxing/review. It's to be expected to receive a lot of hits, isn't it?
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Positive Vibe||12/20/12 12:21 PM|

We are a partner and it happened to us as well. We have no idea what they're talking about, but they removed several videos and sent emails threatening to suspend our account for violating their TOU with use of robots. |Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Haunted Scotland||12/20/12 1:32 PM|
Also had same, ours is a show done for charity so we are outraged they deleted videos that had high views, due to national charity talking about it constantly.
We had the message about spiders and robots and none of the team have no clue what they are on about as even on twitter we got about 3500 retweets moment an episode airs, I hope youtube realise they have actually hurt a charity, /disgusted

|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||ytDangler||12/20/12 1:48 PM|
This was not a bug or a security breach. This was an enforcement of our viewcount policy.
To read more about YouTube's stance on viewcount gaming, please see here: http://youtubecreator.blogspot.com/2012/01/views-and-3rd-party-services.html
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Vincent Fitzgerald||12/20/12 1:58 PM|
The policy doesn't include the ability to appeal decisions? Nor does it include protections against people pointing view bots at videos they want taken down? Then the bug is in the view gaming policy because someone is gaming that policy sir.
|Vincent Fitzgerald||12/20/12 2:00 PM||<This message has been deleted.>|
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Haunted Scotland||12/20/12 2:05 PM|
How exactly is it an enforcement of it when it is punishing those that don't deserve it? People who have worked hard for months to put something out there, us personally we done a week long charity show with a lot of uk celebs taking part, was in about 15 papers even the sun, got massive exposure from the charity so naturally we got high views, yet all of a sudden 6 out of 7 episodes are deleted??? With not even a "please respond" just delete and hope you got it right.
We chose youtube as a social media experiment to see if it would get the show worldwide and raise even more for charity, next season we will stick to iTunes if youtubes attitude is delete and hope for the best, not even a sniff of customer service.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||PavelV||12/20/12 2:27 PM|
dear ytDangler, please tell me, I just read your link...
possibly it's some stupid error or somebody wants to put my new video down due to some unfair competition, because we did usual label promotion in our social media and AdWords Video...
who can I talk about this?
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||room94online||12/20/12 2:31 PM|
Hi ytDangler - could you explain this to me please: How does YouTube determine who's bought or 'gamed' these views? Please tell me if this is correct: I could simply game views on one of your videos by 100k - then your video would too get deleted for breaking YouTubes Terms, even though it wasn't yourself who gained these views... correct? Please reply as this is very important.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||J WILLY||12/20/12 2:35 PM|
From what I understand, these ''robot views'' can be used on any video regardless of the owner.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||WuMyster||12/20/12 2:46 PM|
Hi there dangler. I will be as calm as i can muster before I bring out a load of foul language to you and whoever it may concern but I just read most of what is on that list and it is utter trash to me. I have never spent 1p on promoting my vid, all i do is post my uploaded video on facebook and twitter once THROUGH the standard youtube function. This means that I have NOT violated ANY terms and so this is not a valid excuse to delete my videos. This also applies to everyone else here. There must be proof of why you THINK we pay for views. I never even knew this was possible until today. Why do you have that 300 freeze view count then?
You cannot just delete our videos without telling us in advance to appeal for this stupid judgement. We all want our videos back pronto.
This must be a bug.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||skratchwiz pc||12/20/12 3:00 PM|
I'm the one started this thread and I promoted my two videos through Adwords and paid £12.52, I have the invoice to prove it! My videos have never been promoted elsewhere unless it was another third party doing it on my behalf without my knowledge.
There's a lot of posts on this thread from people who sound honest, I'm one of them. Why would I risk suspension of my channel when I've spent so much time on the content.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||PavelV||12/20/12 3:11 PM|
ytDangler, please tell me how I can contact you or another person from staff personally
I have thousands of fans and hundreds of competitors. I can't control over what they do for/against me. My video complied 100% with all policies of YouTube including the view count policy and even AdWords campaign was in progress... What can I do in this situation?
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||ConfusedDD1||12/20/12 3:14 PM|
Thank you for finally replying. A lot of us have figured out the reason for youtube deleting the videos. But the problem is that youtube is deleting videos that have clearly not violated youtube's terms. You have done nothing other than tell us what we already know. We want to know what is going to be done for the people who don't deserve getting our videos deleted or when will you answer us on how to appeal the decisions made?
As you said "it's not a bug in your system" but it is a "bug" in your methods of screening.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||DJ ICEMAN||12/20/12 3:15 PM|
that almost dosent make sense cause the universial music group page has been hit as well and i know there is NO WAY a bot could have caused the views they have and now they are down to only 5 videos on their page http://www.youtube.com/user/universalmusicgroup/videos?view=0

I noticed that about UMG too.
According to SocialBlade, UMG has lost over 1 Billion views in the last 30 days. And most of that billion views lost came 2 days ago. I don't know if that is because they deleted a bunch of their videos, as it now appears you lose you lose total views when you delete a video (at least for us little guys).
Also, in the top 10 (with hundreds of millions of views lost) is Sony, RCA, Michael Jackson, etc.)
Have a look:

|Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Ronald Caruso||12/20/12 4:48 PM|
This is interesting. I suspect Youtube did this intentionally right before many of their staff would take a Christmas vacation. I think legit videos getting removed is just a casualty of Youtube wanting to crack down on bots. Additionally, this may be a one-time ban wave just to get people to believe that botting views won't be tolerated. That doesn't make it right to ban legitimate videos - I'm just offering a possible explanation. The holiday season gives them an excuse to not respond to anyone. Very sneaky move!
Youtube wishes all of you a Merry Christmas! :)

|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||OriginalPSP||12/20/12 5:43 PM|
Your method for checking this is flawed then. I worked hard to earn the views I did cleanly. There should be a chance to appeal.
I'm actually even having to assume this is what happened to a few of my vids last night, as I never got an e-mail or anything.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Steven Washer||12/20/12 5:49 PM|
Yes, these robot views can absolutely be used on anyone's video at any time. All the offender needs is the URL. The only conclusion we can reasonably reach is that YouTube doesn't care. In fact, they'd probably like to see us all go.
So inasmuch as we are mostly using YouTube to bring people to our websites to create stronger relationships or we are using YouTube to promote our videos for their own sakes, there's probably no good reason we can't use Vimeo.
I started an account today and will be moving my entire catalog there ASAP. YouTube's loss will be everyone else's gain. Not that they care. They're far too big to even notice. Actually, it isn't so much that they don't care. It's that they can't care, no more than an elephant can care that much about a flea.
This is a free service. They owe us nothing. We got used to it. Now we need to get used to paying for it.
Last night I was in shock and rage. Today the message has been sent to all of us. It's time to get used to living in a post-YouTube world.

We were promoting our Christmas CD and both of our videos were shut down yesterday...we worked soo hard to promote the videos...Facebook, twitter and jango radio...we are so upset!!!
All the comments and views gone...hope this gets cleared up soon...
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||mirk gwandili||12/20/12 6:07 PM|
We should send this kind of views to all the most watched youtube videos.
We would leave them with an empty youtube. Empty of youtubbers, empty of videos, empty of advertisements, in one word empty of money!! But it finally it would be full of youtube haters!!
Guys you can't destroy months of work deleting videos without a fully detailed and acceptable reason and without a customer service where we can ask informations. Which kind of unreachable dictators who are you??

|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||TeamPiper||12/20/12 7:06 PM|
Well, this happened to be the FIRST video I tried the new InVideo Programming function on. Is YouTube's own feature violative of its TOU?
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||laughing mask||12/20/12 7:13 PM|
I own a production company and spent money doing the right kind of work, hired a PR firm, generated buzz on the social media sites, if you google the laughing mask movie you will see at least 2 pages worth of horror movie websites talking about us and yet I was accused of violating TOS without even a reason? Its ridiculous to say the least , and then NO customer service? No way to appeal this ridiculous decision? People WORK THEIR ASSES OFF to get people interested in their videos, Im talking about massive mailing to friends and family, people we know, talking about the video at radio stations and interviews to get this removed like this? Its ludicrous. We should all demand an answer, every dime that I loose or lost because of this ridiculous decision will be youtube's responsibility.
We need an explanation, we demand one this is ridiculous and MUST be addressed, for over a MONTH I worked the social media sites pumping up this video to get the view count up WHO IS GOING TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR MY LOSSES??
We NEED AN ANSWER!
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||OriginalPSP||12/20/12 7:26 PM|
Totally agree. My missing vids cost thousands to produce and promote, both out of my pocket and Kickstarter backers.
This is damaging.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Mallory Rock||12/20/12 7:28 PM|
What I dont understand is how they can inforce a policy like this on accounts when anyone, ANYONE, can put a video URL into a pay for views site. It doesnt have to be verified as your account before doing it. Anyone can go pay for bogus views on someone elses video and get them shut down. Total bullshit.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Cyndi Sparkes||12/20/12 7:34 PM|
From what I'm understanding they will have to fix this or risk losing Millions of users which would mean millions of dollars. If you goto Universal Music Groups channel they now only have 5 of there 36 videos up and the views on those don't come close to adding up to the 5.8 Billion they have in there total view count. This just shows that its not just the small guys like us big corporations are hurting from this to, which in turn means YouTube will fix the problem.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||theweedranter||12/20/12 8:41 PM|
What a surprise big music industry labels are gaming the system to find ways to earn false profit. I'm glad that UMG and BMG have lost so many views and video. It shows they are not discriminating against anyone, not even the corporate giants, but the rest have done nothing wrong. You didn't assign bots to falsely inflate views so you can earn more revenue. You did things the honest way, working diligently to create good content for your audience and yet you get hit with strikes and as a result lose those videos and those views. It's refreshing to see those big corporations paying for their greed but the honest user did nothing wrong so why are they being accused of violating TOS???
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Haunted Scotland||12/20/12 8:46 PM|
What shocks our team is that yesterday we had 340,000 views for a show done for charity that was in the national press.
We had a rival that posted on twitter alot how they will do anything to see us fail, even bragged tonight that they suceeded and guess what youtubes new ban first don't ask questions later has just lost sponsors for season 2 which means the charity is down about £4100. Congratulations youtube you just literally hurt a show made to raise money for breast cancer.

I think I've found a form that you guys can actually use to appeal Invalid Activity things. The link to the form: "Invalid Activity Appeal"
You can use the form if you meet the following requirements:
If it was your Google Account that was disabled, go here: "Having Trouble Signing In"
Select the option: "I'm having other problems signing in", the select the choices: 1. "I know my username and password, but I can't sign in", 2. "I'm getting an error message", 3. "Sorry, your account has been disabled"
Hopefully these forms have somewhat of a relation to the issues that you guys are experiencing. :(

I have just read the article who date from the month of January 2012.
I adore the passage: “What isn’t ok?“ => "It might also be serving up embedded videos instead of intended content, serving pop-unders, re-directing and/or a variety of other methods people use to try to inflate viewership."
If this rule takes into account the renaming of the titles and keyword to make grow fraudulently its views. The losses will be numerous for certain. How much time I saw people modifying temporarily a title of video to this end.
I am satisfied that YouTube of course takes these measures in condition which they are precise.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||laughing mask||12/21/12 4:21 AM|
Everyone affected by this needs to get together, start a petition and start looking at legal options, everyone that invested time and lost revenue and did nothing wrong, YOUTUBE will need to prove how our videos broke TOS or they will need to be held legally liable for our losses. Also its interesting that this hasnt made news yet, make noise and lets make this issue heard, blog, share this thread with news organizations, tv shows, radio stations, we cant just allow this to happen thousands of dollars lost in advertising down the drain without a single explanation, Im sure there are big companies out there who would band together and start a lawsuit.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||VSoccerGameShow||12/21/12 4:28 AM|
I am certain that a large majority of the people having carried out a promotion of their videos did not get information about the methods used. Under these conditions, if the incomes were obtained fraudulently, a culprit must be indicated and that cannot be YouTube.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||ConfusedDD1||12/21/12 6:50 AM|
This post is just ignorant. Everyone here is complaining about the same thing, which I agree with, but then you say that it's fair that the big corporations get what they deserve? For all we know, they had legitimate views as well. It's not hard to imagine Eminem or Justin Bieber with millions of views because of fans. So relax on the double standard. I think everyone is getting shafted. The little people as well as the major corporations.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Matthew James||12/21/12 7:03 AM|
Anyone can send bot attacks wherever they like. At any channel or video. Despite your personal opinion, this does happen.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||VSoccerGameShow||12/21/12 7:14 AM|
It is true. In this case there, it is nevertheless legitimate to remove the consecutive views and incomes with this kind of diversion. The suppression of the video is a little extremist of course.

This because i contacted a website who is using real profile users to give more views at my conts. I suggest to consider that idea to keep videos on this site.

Same here for this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABfhTzHacG8
It says: "This video has been removed because its content violated YouTube's Terms of Service." but that can't be right!! The band has the copyrights and the video was uploaded by their label!! Can it be restored? And how?
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||VSoccerGameShow||12/21/12 8:12 AM|
Are the accounts used active ? Are the click and the consecutive watching voluntary ? You will run risks without that.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Elena Diamanti||12/21/12 8:21 AM|
as far as I can be aware... the watching has been voluntary!!
However I can tell you that the band has sent press releases all over the world, to many different media, advertising the video on youtube; additionally, recently, the singer who sang it primarily (the song is a cover, but copyrights are bought) liked it and reposted it in Facebook. I'm not in a position to tell you whether this has prompted people to view it more...

I found out that anyone can buy views from these corrupt companies on anyone elses account and they are pretty cheap. So someone could be doing this and causing youtube to shut down our videos. YOUTUBE IN GOOD BUSINESS YOU MUST DEAL WITH THIS!!!
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Elena Diamanti||12/21/12 9:53 AM|

I honestly don't think YouTube is breaking the law since YouTube is completely FREE. They give us the opportunity for absolutely FREE hosting as long as we agree to their terms and conditions. I think they have the right to delete whatever video they would like. With that said, I am bummed that my video was deleted as well. It had a lot of views and they were rising... But if we really have good content on our videos, then I think we will be ok. The view will start to increase again.
Thankyou YOUTUBE for giving me a FREE and secure place to upload videos and that you are dedicated to make sure views are genuine

|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||TeamPiper||12/21/12 12:07 PM|
Partially correct, Russell. YouTube may remove what it wants, but it may not post libelous statements in place of the removed video, such as "[T]his video has been removed because its content violated YouTube's Terms of Service."
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Russell Spicer||12/21/12 12:14 PM|
Probably correct Teampiper. But consider the possibility of the YouTube creator or creators waking up one day and saying "I don't like YouTube anymore". I think I will delete MY site that I created and that I pay for. Would they be wrong?
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||TeamPiper||12/21/12 12:22 PM|
Sure, Google could just pull the plug at any time for most of us. I'm sure they have some kind of contracts in place that require services to be provided at some level. Taking down videos without putting some kind of statement in place of the video would be better for all parties than putting up false statements.

I definitely think we need to get organized and get legal help. This is ridiculous and just the fact they refused to give a straight answer it smells fishy and wrong, Im already compiling every dime I spent in promotion on this video and I advise all to do the same, then get all that info together and get an attorney with a big eye because he's looking at a good chunk of money. Im also emailing the bigger companies that had their videos taken down and see if a few big names want to join in.

Hey same happened to us ...
proXima are a French band. We wrote music -track NEED TO BREATHE - for the David Cronenberg film COSMOPOLIS (listen to us HERE with Robert Pattinson talking : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dS9jc3BnLRc)
We get interviews on TVs and radios, blah blah (check : http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL067E65A95D9B94C8 )
THEN we get views on YOUTUBE
Our new video clip ZOE AND I was deleted with 850 000 views !
We heard about a new policy of Youtube that would delete videos of indie artists that get high score because "they can't get so many views without tricking".
Hey there ! we have views just because we are becoming famous !
IS IT THE END OF THE "BROADCAST YOURSELF" ON YOUTUBE ?
We have a tour all over Europe in 2013, with tons of interviews in radios and TVs + we are going to the CANNES Festival (another song of proXima in an American movie) ...
What should we say about YOUTUBE and their way to treat indie artists ?
I hope we'll have an answer.
angy Jee Wy, singer of proXima

|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Flying Shadow||12/22/12 9:08 AM|
Please, people, don't fall for this. He is scamming desperate people to make a quick buck. That positive review was posted a few minutes after the gig was posted yesterday. Shame on you "ytKurt" for trying to exploit this.
Fiverr is one of the main reasons why most of your videos are deleted. None of you have admitted it which is understandable, but at some point in the past 4-5 months you DID promote your videos through one of the many many many shady cheap youtube view sellers.
Come on, it's obvious that if someone aproaches you and says I'll sell you 5000 views for $5. ITS FAKE VIEWS. I'll sell you 500 real comments for $50 which is hillarious. I get approached by a fake profile at least once a day!
I applaud YouTube for finally taking this matter agressively. It got out of hand. Unknown bands with a couple subscribers were trending showing they got a million views from facebook embed. Others showed hundreds of thousands of mobile views yet only 10 ratings. Absolutely ridiculous.
Granted, there are legitimate advertising options available, but if you're an independent entertainer, chances are you cannot afford this.
I'm convinced 95% of you are not that innocent and I do think YouTube should allow to appeal so they can take a second look.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||mirk gwandili||12/22/12 10:26 AM|
I'm in disagree!! In the same situation facebook (with the fake fans) have temporarily blocked the accounts and erased all the fake fans added to each account, and sent an ammonition. More or less twitter has done the same with the fake followers. But no one has removed nothing in this nazi way.
It was enough to block the video for one week/month, remove all the fake views/likes/subs added.... and then send an ammonition.
Like first step would be enough for me, just to let us understand that they are not stupid and to stop to buy fake contents.
And maybe then, but only then they would consider to remove videos.
Now on facebook/twitter the people is informed of the risks and buy less fake contents without hate for the social networks.
I finish saying that it was a fault because they have not removed videos with million of fake mobile views, fake subs, fake likes ecc.
Or youtube remove all the sh*t or nothing!!not only the ads views maybe for money/ads reasons, it's ridicolous and not serious.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Weekendsportsup||12/22/12 3:49 PM|
Google/You Tube could end all this B.S. immediately by getting rid of the view counts. That would put the view sellers out of business pronto.
"95% of us aren't being honest? Personally I could give a rats ass about my views...my show was always a "video resume" and I send people there myself from my own website. For what it's worth the 3 videos they took down were NOT the ones with the most views.
I'll say it again...if You Tube doesn't want people increasing view artificially why not give everyone the option to disable the view count. Seems interesting they took that anyway.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||AlcatrazProductions||12/23/12 1:28 AM|
Still no message from YOUTUBE ...
I guess the proper response is to all go to another platform such as VIMEO for instance and let YOUTUBE with their paranoia and with their big business ... Major firms want to push out the indie producers and the user generated content.
"Go broadcast yourself" elsewhere !
And even if I can prove that our views were not fake and that we didn't violate any copyright, because proXima wrote a song (NEED TO BREATHE) for the film COSMOPOLIS (directed by David Cronenberg, starring Robert Pattinson), because we get radio and TV interviews, because we were on the NME front page, because thousands of blogs talking about Robert Pattinson link to our music videos (type in Google "proxima cosmopolis", "proxima pattinson", "need to breathe cronenberg", etc ... and see by yourself), etc ... So it is quite normal that we get views on YOUTUBE isn't it ?
And as I read messages that say that 95% of us are "guilty" it makes me think of what happened to the American post war dream ... (and I am French)
But just because we ARE NOT guilty of anything, we are rather angry and we'll re-upload our music video (remember ? re-upload allowed)... elsewhere (on VIMEO i guess).
YOUTUBE doesn't pay attention of a small team scammed by their brutal deleting strategy ? OK ... LET IT BE.
I remember MYSPACE as they were powerful and untouchable, they began to treat bad the indie bands as they were signing more and more ads and agreements with the Major records companies ... Look what they are now ! a small platform where no one goes anymore.
Internet IS the users ... So let's show what the real power is ... let's go to VIMEO, REVERB NATION, DAILYMOTION, etc ...
Jee WY, the angry singer of the band proXima
PS : hope we'll go to the CANNES Festival in 2013 (another track in an American movie ... and still indie) and that we'll be in position to explain what we think ...
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Filip Rapp||12/23/12 4:39 AM|
Yeah! That is the big problem here. It means we could get ANY video banned by just buying some views for it. That's why this mass-deletion thing is so sick. You can promote any clip through authenticviews.com - you don't have to be the owner or anything.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Wayne Scales||12/23/12 5:03 AM|
The way YouTube is going about this its totally unprofessional and quite frankly disgraceful. I spend almost £2000 legitimately promoting our videos through their Adsence program only to have them deleted.
I'm taking YouTube to court over this. Luckily I'm in a fortunate position where I have the financial power to afford an Attorney to fight this case. I'm currently waiting to hear back as to when the court date will be granted. I understand not everyone is in a position where they can afford to take legal action but I advise anyone can to do so.
I will respond in this forum when the court date has been announced.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||ConfusedDD1||12/23/12 5:14 AM|
No offense, but I doubt you will get a court date for a long time. Your lawyer first has to issue the facts to their lawyers which will take months and then they have to come back with their facts, etc.. Only after all of that, once your files are finalized can you proceed to determine a court date. So this will take you years to resolve.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||WuMyster||12/23/12 5:15 AM|
Wait, im so confused. I for one do not promote my videos by paying people or whatever I am falsely getting accused of but what I want to know is, is this allowed or not? Im confused as all the ads on YOuTube I am seeing are about this service called Virool and it says it gains you youtube views. Is youtube trying to catch people out?
Anyway, I havent received an email back from youtube about my videos. Ive almost given up. Can you believe im fighting to get a 100% legitimate video back on MY channel that YOUTUBE REMOVED for NO REASON
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||ytKurt||12/23/12 5:16 AM|
Have you read the YouTube terms and conditions?
I am sure there is something there that covers their asses - you won't win this trial, you are wasting your time and money.
Face it, Google and YouTube (along with a few others) control the the web - in fact THEY ARE THE WEB.
So you can't use their services, make'em stronger and then try to take them down.
You can post angry replies all you want but the fact of the matter is that there are only microscopic % of video owners here, most people in the WORLD will keep using and enjoying YouTube
And I am sure that in 1 month from now, every thing will be forgotten an even you along with other people here, will keep uploading the YouTube.
Stop getting pissed of and crying and move on.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||ConfusedDD1||12/23/12 5:22 AM|
You have no idea what you are talking about. Youtube obviously launched an automated system to determine who had violated their terms. There are so many reasons that are possible for people to have high view counts. Weather it be amazing promotion or sabotage. In the end, youtube should have paid more attention to the accounts and who they were accusing. A lot of people put a lot of time and energy into their uploads and making rash decision on youtube's part is irresponsible. On my end, I has celebrities posting my video and I can see that the spike in views are directly in sync with when those celebrities posted the vids. If that isn't reason enough, I also have an abundance of teenagers in my video, any number of them could have tried to spam my video. ALSO, there were a lot of competitors that were affected by my video, so getting my video removed by spamming it is something that works to their benefit. All you have to do is Google search "How to get someone's video banned from youtube".
I am not impressed with youtube and actions like this are the type of things that make people say 10 years from now "Remember that company Youtube? I use to be on that all the time"
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||ConfusedDD1||12/23/12 5:28 AM|
STFU! We all have a right to get pissed. We put in time and hours to make these videos as well as promote them. Some of our businesses depend on the services youtube provides. Granted the service is for free, but they claim to provide it to us nonetheless. As a result, we depend on it. So having them take such action strongly affects us and NO it won't be forgotten. Yes, the WORLD will continue to use Youtube, but eventually another company will come along and the more youtube pisses people off, the more power they will give to that other company. At 1 time nobody thought anything would be bigger than MySpace, then Facebook came along. The same goes for iPhone and samsung. There will always be an alternative and when youtube has a STRONG competitor, people will remember this situation as well as many others and a move will happen. The only way to make sure that move will happen is by letting people know about it and to keep "Crying about it".

Ok well enforce videos like Gangnam Style that obtained over 400 million views from a mobile device hack. Or are you afraid that you guys will lose money from that video because of your advertisements.? I would love to see videos like Gangnam style be deleted. This is very unfair because this hacker has threatened my account and said he would send generated traffic to it To get my account deleted because he hates me. what now? You going to delete my account for something I cant control.

whats up everyone im a rap artist from California who lost a very important music video like many of you, and it doesnt seem like anyone has made any progress on the issue so i have found some contact info for youtube so i will be blowing up there phone and my assistant is currently writing up a fax with all the data of what happened and trying to find a way to work out the situation.
1 thing i wanted to add to that fax is to add everyones name on a list of people this happened to so with power of numbers we let them know we aint gonna take this shit. with that said if anyone wants to get added to that list in support of getting our videos back (cuz bottom line if they arent permanently deleted im getting mine back)please leave your name, youtube channel, name of the video taken down & whatever contact your comfortable with leaving in a public forum on the internet in this post and ill make sure to add you.
if that doesnt work i dont live far from youtube head quarters and i will film a video of me going to talk to them in person on my youtube channel (youtube.com.okwerdz) and get my fans riled up ready to go in on them!
also a few people have directed me to this website for someone that might be able to look into this and fix it as well: http://newmediarights.org/ i havent had a chance to look at it yet so i duno the deal ill try to get on it in the next day or so.
if youd like to contact youtube yourself here is they info:
ill also be sending the same info i faxed to them via the send feedback option as well, thats all i got so far but im motivated and on the case so leave your names/info on this post and lets get our fucking videos back
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Aiur Ray||12/25/12 1:18 PM|
Essentially any fan or common viewer can use such methods targeted towards a video or channel and with Youtube's new policy would result in the account holder being penalized. To me, this sounds much like a modernized version of a DDOS attack on channels.
Example: If i were to hold a grudge against someone, re-producing this process for their channel would result in them possibly being banned.
This is absolute insanity and offers no protection for the channel owner , it simply holds them responsible for all activity that occurs, which given the structure of YT and the limited ability to configure/control much of anything just leaves all channel owners susceptible and vulnerable.
We have never used any of these tactics, nor do we encourage anyone to do so, we're all about evening the playing field but there should be an open discussion in this instance rather than blanket enforcement.
We're a new band and fight hard for our views, this is not only a hard hit for us but makes us question if pursuing a presence on Youtube is even viable if such measures can be taken without notice or appeal.

I am FURIOUS about this. Not one, two, or three of my videos got removed, but 16. SIXTEEN of my videos. I worked HARD on each individual video and they just got removed on the drop of a dime without even having a chance to defend myself. I have been making YouTube videos and growing my audience for 4 years now and this is just straight BS. If there is ANY way to fix this situation I want to know about it ASAP because I am legitimately considering retiring from YouTube over this situation.

there are less replies now as I am guessing we are all giving up, i am as well. Whoever implemented this system is an idiot (this post will probably get deleted). Bare in mind youtube workers. |Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||taburineagle||12/28/12 4:51 AM|
I didn't get an e-mail about violating the TOS, or have any of my videos deleted, but I did lose 90,000 views on December 18th without any rhyme or reason that I could see. I also have no bot or anything else running for me *EXCEPT* for AdWords for Video, which I decided to try out for the first time in early December. Not only was AdWords worthless for views (they suggested I'd get 1,500 views for a $35 investment, I only got 300 for something closer to twice that price), it's the only thing I could figure in to their decision to lose the views... why would their own service (which they promote *everywhere* BTW!) be in violation of their TOS??
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||ConfusedDD1||12/28/12 5:14 AM|
Why on earth is your only copy on youtube? That's not too smart. That's your fault and not youtube's.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Haunted Scotland||12/28/12 11:19 AM|
ConfusedDD1 your reply shows your ignorance to what people are complaining about.
People aren't claiming about losing the only copy of their video, it's the loss of viewing figures when youtube is in the wrong, alot of people myself included worked very hard on videos that were on YouTube, to just delete them is beyond bad with no chance of an appeal.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||WuMyster||12/28/12 11:25 AM|
Of course its my fault. Im the one who doesnt have a backup but why would i keep one? Would i ever dream of having youtube delete my videos for apparently using spiders or whatever their called? I had 100% faith in youtube not LOSING my videos. It turns out they deleted them and took my hard earned views away from me
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||ConfusedDD1||12/28/12 11:31 AM|
ACTUALLY, Your reply shows your IGNORANCE. My message was written as a reply to @WuMyster who wrote
"That video took so much work and the only copy i had was on youtube. Screw you" Which is why I replied "Why on earth is your only copy on youtube? That's not too smart. That's your fault and not youtube's"
So get your story straight because if anything your reply is ignorant. Dumbass! Hahaha!
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||OriginalPSP||12/28/12 11:34 AM|
Sadly, this isn't a new thing on the 'net I guess. A few years ago I had eBay boot my account without advance notice or chance for appeal. Someone in the same apartment complex bid on an item I was selling so they considered it shill bidding... even though he bid because he just wanted the item.
Doesn't make it right, though. I still have yet to get any notice or explanation FROM Google on this... much less a chance to appeal. I can only assume the reasons they had for pulling a few of my vids is connected to the same stuff as the others here, even though I busted my butt to promote, promote and promote to get my views without shortcuts.
You'd think by now they'd see the reaction to this and offer up a chance for appeal or changes to how they enforced this. A lot of hard working people were impacted based on the assumptions of some algorythm.

We are the band proXima (check http://proximavideos.canalblog.com/archives/2012/12/29/26014171.html )
We don't simply "give up", we consider that Youtube WANTS the indie artist to go away.
We decided to re-upload our video clip ZOE AND I (that got 850 000 views on Youtube) on VIMEO : https://vimeo.com/56413127
We encourage you to do the same : if Youtube loses millions of subscribers they will change their mind (Power to the People needs the People to act)

|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Flying Shadow||12/29/12 6:26 PM|
Yotube does not want you to go away. It wants you to stop buying fake bot views.
You got caught. Go back to the people that sold you the views and demand your money back. Reupload the video and move on.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Steven Washer||12/29/12 7:47 PM|
Your smug, self-satisfied, self-righteous quip does nothing to alleviate the pain of thousands who had their videos taken down for no fault of their own. Yes, I'm sure there are those who "doth protest too much" (just as every inmate in the prison was framed) but there is no longer any doubt that YouTube screwed the pooch this time and their non-answer tells us all we need to know.
I'm already contemplating a post-YouTube world of video marketing and I know I'm not alone. This is not about a guilty conscience. It's about giving your work a chance to last. If anyone can destroy your marketing by spending a mere $20 on bot views, then this site is nothing more than a wasteland waiting to happen. It happend before to another site when it was unthinkable, and it can happen again.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||TheWuMyster||12/29/12 11:09 PM|
Sorry but why does your post suggest that I bought anything. I have not bought or signed up for any service that gives me views or promotes my video, i never even knew that they could do this.
SO quit being so arrogant and actually read the posts that some people have made. Both my videos got taken down for this stupid violation. One had 100k view and the other had 400. Really? I bought 400 views and 100k for the other? Why would I even think about buying so much for the other? Their not using their logic. Anyone could sign me up for a service and get my videos taken down. This is all BS

Reading your post gave me excited chills. You seem like you know a lot about this sort of stuff.
What do you mean by "post-Youtube world of video marketing? How would it change?
Also, was the wasteland site you're referring to Myspace? What site will take over Youtube, if something unthinkable were to happen?
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||AlcatrazProductions||12/30/12 9:00 AM|
you are wrong Sir
We (the band proXima (check http://proximavideos.canalblog.com/archives/2012/12/29/26014171.html to know what we are) made a soundtrack for the Film Director David Cronenberg (COSMOPOLIS check the link above to watch the offial international trailer with my voice under the Robert Pattinson's talk) ... We do radio and TV interviews, etc ...
It brings a lot fans ... and it is a real sincere tough work to exist as an artist away from the formated Majors.
And one of our videos (not all, not 2, ... just 1 ... weird isn't it ?)was deleted ...
We re-uploaded ... on VIMEO (music video zoe and I) : https://vimeo.com/56413127 where image quality is even a little better than on Youtube (we didn't try it before ... Thx Youtube).
Hope everone will do the same.

Within a week I was shut down for violating youtubes TOU #4 Section H protocols.
I am reposting my video on vimeo, I would like to know how I could have done any of these things as I do not how to even launch any kind of automated bot system.
I cant even find an email address to complain so they can show me how I did this, as I would love to know. They deleted a video without me doing anything, but checking the hits and stats.
My blogs and servers have been under attack ever since and we have to take down all kinds of bot infestation daily. I think maybe that when there is something of the real out there, they don't like that.

How can your system tell if the person who owns the account has used such titled "view gaming" services? What if these views were generated by a third party not related to the channel in anyway for either spread a channel that they found interesting or for malicious intentions (trying to get the video and or channel removed via abusing the system (see false flagging for an example of how such abuse is very easy to accomplish))? This has not happened to me however I noticed that you did not even consider the possibility that someone was trying to get his video(s) removed or account suspended by doing this.
These kinds of "rules" are not really enforceable because of just that, you have no way of knowing if the owner of the channel used those services or if someone they have no connection with is trying to get them kicked off of YouTube. Therefore you will end up likely punishing more innocent parties than you will guilty ones.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Celcel1997||1/1/13 7:06 AM|
My daughter's video was taken down without any notification by email.
I tried calling Youtube but when I hit the customer service option a message came on that no customer service is available at this time -please go to the web. Does that mean there is no way of speaking with someone at Youtube to find out why her video was removed? We did reupload, but it will be a difficult task to start hyping it up again to get folks to view again. I love the idea of Vimeo, but I don't think it gets anywhere near the same amount of traffic as Youtube does especially with teens which is the audience she is targeting.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||jchx95||1/1/13 2:22 PM|
I have been sent a notice of that my video has been removed for Violation of TOU #4 Section H:
"You agree not to use or launch any automated system, including without limitation, "robots," "spiders," or "offline readers," etc.........
First of all, I did no such thing, but in order to challenge it, there is supposedly a process for appeals of such decisions by clicking on a link that says "Appeal This Decision" on the account status page. But when I went to my account status, it said that I was in good standing and there was no link to click for appeal. And there are no contact e-mail addresses for inquiries.
It's bad enough having the video taken down, but the most irritating thing about this experience is getting hit with faceless accusations from a "noreply" e-mail address and not being able to confront anyone. So much for customer service. I feel that anyone has the right to be presented with the evidence of the charges against them and be able to confront their accuser. If such a violation occurred, I want to know how, because it wasn't my doing. Something like this could have been done by an outside hacker; or if it was done by someone hired to promote the video, then the account holder needs to be told what specifically was done and when so that they can confront the promoter and possibly discontinue their services. But the promoters could be innocent as well and should have a chance to defend themselves.
And from reading other posts, it looks like this has happened to quite a few other people as well. Something needs to be remedied with this situation, as it has affected quite a few people. There are probably many genuine violations of the above policy, but it appears that many innocent victims are getting stepped on along the way.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||surfsidepotrero||1/1/13 5:04 PM|
Maybe YT is using robots and spiders and offline readers on your accounts...?
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||AlcatrazProductions||1/2/13 6:27 AM|
Nothing will be fixed ... If you see the comments, you must admit that people are like a herd of cows ... those that are taken by the lion complain, and the others simply don't care and post disdain messages ...
So now we have to admit that Youtube may not be the right place for indie artists that produce real ART (and not silly videos with a crocodile eating a shoe) and work hard to promote themselves.
Youtube made possible the "broadcast yourself" but now it is over and we'll watch vids on Youtube as we watch TV : content will be selected and fed by major companies. It's not that bad ... it's just something else.
After Youtube has deleted our last video clip ZOE AND I (850 000 views and thousands and thousands of blogs linking ... we'll have to contact them all ... fancy that ... because we wrote the soundtrack for the David Cronenberg film COSMOPOLIS almost every blog that talks about Robert Pattinson links our videos ...), we decided to re-upload on Vimeo (see all the vids including Official Trailer of Cosmopolis : on this playlist there are vids put on Youtube and one that was put on Vimeo so you can compare image quality : http://proximavideos.canalblog.com/archives/2012/12/29/26014171.html )
It's too bad that Youtube doesn't give a way to contact them in such a case ...
So now, we decided to give up and move to another video sharing site (We tried a few, and it seems that Vimeo gives the best image render even better than Youtube). Even if they are not as big as Youtube, it's still better than to be deleted ...

|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||MLSchmidt||1/2/13 3:19 PM|
I started reading this thread, but gave up looking for a legitimate appeal process after page 5. Has anyone figured it out yet, or is YouTube/Google still hiding behind a wall of silence?
I recently directed a video for a band, which was removed from the band's YouTube channel on Dec. 19, around the same time this happened to a lot of the people on this thread.
The band has sent appeals to Google, but there doesn't appear to be a proper way to appeal a TOU issue. They sent their appeal through this page: http://support.google.com/youtube/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=185111 . But as you can see, there is nothing here to really address the TOU issue. If our video is in violation for using spiders or robots or trolling for emails and user information, it is neither a copyright issue or a community guidelines issue. So where do we appeal?
We did not use any spiders or bots to generate views, nor did we solicit viewers for personal information or email addresses.
The crazy thing is that the removal of the video took place a little over a month after it was released. We had about 130,000 views at the time, with most of the views coming in the first week of the release. The majority of views came when the band posted it on their Facebook page and then when we posted it to Reddit about a week later. Then a couple of weeks before the removal, a fan posted it to Cheezberger and we got another 20,000 views or so. At the time the video was removed, the views had slowed down to about 250-500 a day. So there was a huge influx of views at beginning, then it slowed down to very little, and then it was removed.
If there was something funny going on with our views, why was the video flagged when it had almost no traffic and not at the beginning?
Before it was taken down, we had a few haters out there leaving mean-spirited comments on the video's page, claiming the video was a "copycat" and "unoriginal." Overall criticism was positive, but there were some jealous outliers out there. So, as some have mentioned here, how is YouTube and Google to be sure there is not someone sabotaging other's videos? If someone really did want to get rid of another video because they felt it competed with their video, or their video's views, it would be very easy to take down the competing video by sending them robo-views or the like.
As I mentioned, we did not manipulate our views. But the truly frustrating thing is that YouTube/Google has implemented a policy that puts the onus solely on the Account Holder, with little thought paid to other users' actions, and little recourse for the Account Holder. This last fact needs to be addressed immediately to give Account Holders the tools they need to properly present and promote their channels and videos.
Like many on this thread, I am planning to shift my future video services to Vimeo to prevent this kind of betrayal from YouTube. YouTube may have the viewers, but Vimeo has much better quality video, and their customer service is also much more responsive and helpful.

THis is the link to the Appeals form, I was sent an email about it, filled it about a week ago and received no answer whatsoever. Still a chance out there so go ahead, Im still looking at other (legal) options at the moment to at least cover my losses on advertisement PR since all websites that linked my content now have a dead link.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||MLSchmidt||1/2/13 6:39 PM|
Thanks for posting this link. It's very helpful. That said, this looks like it's specifically sent to you in response to a previous email. What did you do to get this response? Did you send an email? Or did you file an appeal through one of these options: http://support.google.com/youtube/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=185111
The reason I ask is because I hesitate to fill out a form like this if Google is only looking for/accepting appeals for people they have sent the form to.

But since they are "bringing in the money" Google doesn't do anything about it. It is just a poor viewcount system to begin with. Google wants you to use adwords and then they can you for it???

Apparently, YouTube rejected my video for the exact same reason. I believe you appealed for a reinstated claim to get rid of the copyrighted music or whatever you used in the video. On my video manager and on my videos, just where it says the upload date, beneath that on my video that has been violated says: Rejected (re-upload allowed)I re-uploaded my video and it said matched third party content, acknowledge it and just appeal for a normal claim, your video will just be blocked in 1 or more countries. My video was just blocked in germany, better than getting your video taken down.The first video of mine lost 30k video views, they view appeal thing is rubbish, they don't do anything about it. Hope this helped.

I recently received a warning, but I did not use any kind of view bot or service. I tried to appeal, but it was rejected. Is there any way I can convince YouTube that I was not responsible for this apparently invalid increase in views? I am profoundly distressed and disturbed.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Eco Friendly Shelters||10/25/13 8:46 AM|
Today received an email from YT stating the same subject. We are a non-profit with a wide base of loyal members. Upon upload of our videos, we reached out to our members to view the new video. Over the course of two weeks, the video had over 66K views.
The problem is not that someone sent robots or whatever YT states happened. The problem is that links to this video have been distributed and affixed on multiple sources including Twitter, websites.
Now YT states that the video has been reuploaded by YT. No suspension of account, etc. And even signed "Sincerely, YT." The option to challenge the decision is supplied by quite a lengthy form to fill out.
This is so WRONG! Relying on your automation processes without any sort of validation is plain STUPID. This is why Google with its services is becoming a behemoth with no ability to be empathetic to someone's situation. Robot vs. human approach.
The google account will be deleted. YT account videos will be reuploaded to Vimeo. We care LESS about count of views. We care about the fact that YT has changed the link to the video for all those (members) who have been sending it out - its BROKEN now.
How SAD. DISGUSTING.

“YT account videos will be reuploaded to Vimeo. We care LESS about count of views.”
If you don’t care about maximizing the views or Google’s advertisement program and can afford about $60 per year then you have made a good choice. (See you there!)
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Jonas G||11/4/13 2:07 AM|
Same happened to me as well! And this for a video that so far only had 5000 views (which doesn't seem extraordinarily high!). So it was removed and the support didn't give any proper answer to why they thought the views or likes or comments had been faked. (But it was certainly not me who did it. Nor am I sure anyone even did, the stats seem normal).
The most annoying thing is that there doesn't seem to be anybody one can properly contact about this. The support just seems to reply with automated messages.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||XXLRay||11/4/13 4:34 AM|
Can't you identify a peak in views for this particular video when you consult your analytics?
|Jonas G||11/4/13 5:08 AM||<This message has been deleted.>|
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||XXLRay||11/4/13 6:09 AM|
That did not exactly answer my question. I asked whether you can identify a suspicious peak for this particular video not if hourly statistics would make it easier.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Jonas G||11/4/13 6:27 AM|
Well, in the case of my video, I can't really.
Or rather, I can. The first day when the video was online (not counting the day of the upload as it was uploaded 30 minutes before midnight) it got 4800 views. The next day it dropped a bit (to a couple of hundred views), and then the video was deactivated by youtube.
So technically there is a peak, to answer your question :-)
But statistically one couldn't really call it a significant peak, as it's 4800views in one day during a period of less than two days. However, if it had been 4800 views in one hour during a period of i.e. 36 hours, it would of course be a very significant peak.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||XXLRay||11/4/13 7:40 AM|
Is there a specific source of views which stands out?
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Jonas G||11/4/13 8:01 AM|
Embedded plays make up 87 % of the views. Which is maybe a little unusual? Although as the video was posted on lots of blogs and websites, I wouldn't have thought there was anything weird about it normally.
Otherwise I can't notice anything weird in the stats, I'm afraid. The views come from lots of different countries, but none of them is over represented. (Or maybe that's unusual, actually?). And in average the viewers have been watching for 1.32 minutes. (Which I would guess is pretty normal for a music video)

No, can't find anything particular if searching for the video ID either on facebook, I'm afraid.

This just happened to me, on a video that had less than 2000 views. Only thing that may have been unusual is the video in question had no likes, dislikes, or comments, just views?
I dont buy advertising anywhere. My videos are posted to Facebook, Twitter, and various web boards.
I filled out the appeal form and sent it in, however I'm skeptical they will even reply.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||sdoumu120||11/26/13 5:55 AM|
Same thing ... 2 videos deleted, then uploaded under 'policy violation of TOU #4 Section H:'
Like many others I've worked hard to build to 900,000 views of 150 videos.
No support or acknowledgement - except the standard response. I've lost confidence in Youtube. This is a serious issue - can any major players email them directly and get some response?

Yes, around 2500 in one day from India (500), Turkey (500) and USA (200) - rest all over

Should you let me know then thanks in advance! :)

They replied and said my appeal was denied, that was pretty much it.
They have since taken down several more videos and I havent even bothered to appeal. It's very discouraging.

Don't confuse a "boilerplate" message, one that's been previously prepared for replying to common issues, with something like those automated "no-reply" responses you get if you send a reply to an email address that doesn't accept one (for example).
The notice stated they, "they" being someone on staff, investigated, that is they reviewed the content and data, AND they even looked at your account's history concerning the issue, failed to find in your favor, and that's what prompted them to send you that 'boilerplate' notice.
Just curious, how much did you fill out? They ask for a TON of information ...
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||sdoumu120||11/27/13 1:10 PM|
I'm just not persuaded that they even look at the appeal. I spent far too long filling out the form with all the information they asked for. My account has always been in good standing, I don't stuff my keywords with 'Lady Gaga,' I upload copyright free content on a regular basis and I reply to comments.
The curt dismissal of my appeal has left me without any confidence that I can build a good business. It's caused me to rethink my whole online approach - which is a shame, as I have enjoyed interacting with my subscribers.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Dan ''Spiffy'' Neuman||11/27/13 5:27 PM|
I replied to the appeal. They sent back this:
You are ultimately responsible for your traffic, so fully research any service that promises to promote or curate your YouTube channel.
YouTube cannot audit or certify specific 3rd party programs to verify that they comply with our policy. However, all such services must abide by our Terms of Service and the Terms of Service for our APIs. If we determine that suspicious actions are being done by a specific entity, they risk being blocked from our service and accessing our APIs, and having any related accounts suspended.
I ultimately had 11 videos removed, of ~250. No mention of suspension.
"The curt dismissal of my appeal has left me without any confidence that I can build a good business. It's caused me to rethink my whole online approach - which is a shame, as I have enjoyed interacting with my subscribers."
That hit the nail on the head.

I also sent them a reply to my appeal.

Many users who rely on Google for their business model discover it is a tenuous relationship at best (unless you are an Advertising Brand Partner -- where Google has a tens, or hundreds-of-thousands of dollars interest in your account).
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||sdoumu120||11/28/13 2:45 PM|
Yes, as a result of this experience I've lost trust in Google / YouTube. There seems little point in putting in any more effort when it can be dismissed so lightly. I would still like to build an online business but not until I don't have to rely as much upon Google.
|Re: Violation of TOU #4 Section H:||Dan ''Spiffy'' Neuman||11/28/13 10:24 PM|
I understand that YouTube provides us with a service-- they host our content for free, not only for free, but they pay us for it. Still, they're making a huge profit off our content-- much more than any of us our-- and it would be nice for them to value all the time and work that is put in to posting good content, rather than just dismissing it. I do understand people abuse the system, but it appears a lot of us that dont are losing a lot. I would rather some guilty go free than some innocent be persecuted.
I have been going back and forth with customer service and they keep sending forum letters. I dont know what else to do. It's taken me years to build views and comments in many cases. I dont want to have to start fresh every time YouTube decides they dont like me for no reason.
If anyone comes up with a solution, let me know.
